I saw these pics on clubvr4 and wanted to share what I reckon is the nicest / most modified VR-4 going around. I have PM'd the owner and told him to come and visit us at ozvr4 ...
rather have this... much tidier IMO, has had a Twin TD04L 13T conversion... just needs ecu and tuning http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=120347308
Not many of you will realise this, but that car is actually a 97 prefacelift. He has spent huge amounts of time and money modifying it. It also has a 240kmh speedo and evo TME recaro's like my car (but my speedo is a 260kmh one). I like his strut brace, and I love the vented guards, but quite a bit of it is a little bit over the top for my personal tastes.
...and either that Legnum has custom red carpet, or a certain Super VR-4 interior was salvaged/used for it!
lol this coming from the guy thats fitting evo 6 flairs, svr4 spoiler, and full kit, with hugely wide wheels! LOL!!
yeah but all of my stuff is going to be incorporated into the body, so it will be nice and smooth. A lot of the stuff on that car looks stuck on
What are those headlamps? Seats are fantastic and I LOVE that steering wheel - what is it?? Why are there so many welds in the induction system piping?? Apart from the ugliness, I'd be quite concerned about the excessive turbulence it would cause, unless he sanded or machined out the pipes afterward... HIGHLY doubtful...
The headlights are custom and look a bit like the evo 7-9 ones. The seats are the same as mine - EVO 6.5 TME's, and the steering wheel is out of an EVO 7 or 8.
yeh the wheel is a 7/8/9 one... it does'nt bolt in thou... he does'nt speak english that well, but i think he has somehow adapted the vr4 and evo steering column perhaps he used the steering wheel spine from the evo, and made it fit in our vr4 columns?
There is nothing sleeper about the car JB If you saw it, you flip the coin to see if it's rice or pure business!
I really wish I had a spare $12k for that green Galant... just what i like. It looks black and minimalist. I quite like those wheels too - my preferred type of wheel actually. Anyone know what they're off? I'm sure this guy must be making a hell of a loss on this sale though?
My apologies JB, agreed that the particular Galant here is just awe-inspiring. Carsten, the last line in his quote is a bit disheartening though "...i've lost interest"
Andy has had the car since 2003 and in 2005 started putting the TD04's in. He has spent a lot of time on the project and as he says in the ad, he has just lost interest in it.
yeh it is... but its one of those things... he enjoied building it, but now that its finished.. time to move on for him, it did take him over a year to do. i'd probabilly lose interest after that much time aswell.
