well it finally happend after posting 204kw and 412nm of torque at all four wheels my transmission went bye bye, i was just wondering is there any halfcuts or manual transmissions available in auz if anyone has bought one from here please let me know the contacts you went through and what niggling parts you had to chase down thanks guys

krsta, you need the following

clutch pedal assembly
clutch master
manual transmission
gear stick assembly and cables
manual tranny mount (4 holes/bolts)

not sure about the axles though.. and you have to get that park position sorted as well otherwise your car won't start AFAIK..

there is a written off legnum selling on ebay at the moment..looks goos for the parts u need but not sure it its manual or auto..

Out of curiosity, how did it die exactly and what mods are you running to get to that power?

im not sure i think it was one launch too many unfortunately after a launch i heard a sound like a bang / crunch noise, then after that i heard like a distorted sort of grinding noise. Thought it was the sound system but was i wrong, lol the car hobbles at low speed in gear one and 2 and can bearly reverse 3 is pain, 4 and 5 are ok. Maybe also constanly using triptronic had something to do with it as well, as for the mods surprisingly the leggy is pretty easy to get 200kw out of it if ure willing to push ure turbos and knowing that they might go and have the cash for new ones. Mods are cat back via a fugi legalis r type evo with one hotdog removed and the cat gutted purely for sound, custom made down pipes, r33gtr front mount with full alluminum hard piping, cold air intake well a very rough one, bosch fuel pump. Can't remember off the top of my head how much bigger, alloy cooler, thicker head gasket with a head gasket screw alignment, greddy emanage ultimate ecu with fuel cut defender and an apexi avcr running 16psi took a few hours of tuning on the dyno and on road

Makes it easier for us ;)

Sounds like your turbro's are pushing their limit.

If you end up wanting another auto, mine might be up for grabs relatively soon. Just shy of 80,000ks on it.

sorry thanks paul, how is getting a tranny from nz reliable ?

oh yeah i forgot to mention my other go fast bits, they include a ralliart 1.3bar radiator cap which gave the car another 15kw atw and a large motul sticker underneath my wing wich gave it 30kw atw i wanted a red one for more power but white suited the car better =p

is it possible to use the clutch slave and master cylinders and the pedal box assembley off another car say an evo or something and also were can i chase down a manual tranny mount

Krsta, yes you can, but you have to mod it though.. unlike with the oem part that came out of a vr4.. you won't have to worry about mounting holes and stuff.. but it might be worth a try..

yeayyyyyy my car is on its way to being a manul woo cant wait tuestday its all starting, ill will post as the conversion goes by im just worried as to the degree of difficulty im confused as techsport said it was a job from hell saying it was really hard and the luming was a nightmare they also said there is no way an evo pedal box and slave and master cylinders from an evo will fit, then theres the guys on here who have done the conversion them selves and it wasnht that hard at all hrrmm... at any rate im stoked now.

Just out of interest... how did you launch? Did you hold your foot on the brake and stall the torque converter to around 3k, or did you rev it in neutral and dump it in drive?

They could have said that because they couldn't be assed doing the job.

probably they were having a bitch about it esp the looming and how there was no wiring diagram and how it was the first one to be done in aus not to mention they charged 7k for the work and the guy supplied his own box man wtf

yeah i stepped on the break and and accelerator at the same time my ecu has high stall so i launch at 4.5k not a good idea haha

yeah i cant wait im soo stoked its going to be an agonizing wait man
