Hi guys,

Just seeking a quick confirmation;

Jumped in my Legnum to goto work yesterday and it wouldn't start. (always starts first time usually).

Everything lights up, all I get is a rapid clicking of the starter solenoid I think. Doesn't turn over. I thought just incase I'd boost the battery so I got a passerby with jump cables to give that a go but still only get the clicking....

I'm guessing it's going to be starter motor on the way out?

I'm going to try and give it a few taps with something hard this morning to see if I can persuade it to start. Anybody know roughly (without saying on the transfer case) where it is and the easiest way to get to it?

By the sounds of the other posts on here, the cheapest thing to do is getting it overhauled instead of buying a replacement....

Thanks

Yeah sounds like the starter.

When you find it give it a few whacks and see if it starts.

battery,
legnums need alot of CCA to work,
and just jumping of another car does not work.

sounds like the battery just shit itself.

Definately try another known good battery before you start thinking about pulling out the starter motor.

Thanks for the advice guys. It did end up being the battery. Got a nice big one with a warrenty to match.

You learn something new everyday!

I have had the same thing before with my car... Note to everyone, our cars wont start with anything under 11.8v at the battery. :)

Just for the record, the starter motor is right at the front of the motor close to the oil filter, very easy to spot
