Hey all, LCA's are about to go as im gettibg alot of creaks and knockings noisys. Only issue now is can anyone recommend a mechanic or someone for the install??? From what i've heard replacing LCA's is only roughly 2-3hrs in labour. The last thing i want is to take my baby to the mechanics/installer that doesnt know wat there doing and charging me more time on labour than what it should. So any recommendation guys??? Im in south east Vic btw. (Nearly forgot to say that)

Speaking from recent experience (and im no mechanic) with the right tools its easily a DIY job so would be hard to mess up for someone qualified. Its mostly a nuts and bolts job after all.

Biggest gotcha for those playing at home is to make sure you don't torque / tighten things up until she's on the ground settled and level.

Yeah i've been reading alot of ppl have been doing at home by themselves but knowing the importance and huge safety issue of these things i rather let a pro do it for couple hundred bucks knowings it all done properly for a peace of mind.
Being a truckie i also dont have much time on my hands, days off for me are spent under the truck doing maintenance.

Yeah the time can always be used elsewhere for sure. Don't get me wrong I'll be getting a safety check performed as part of the wheel alignment for added peace of mind.

Anyway hope the VIC guys can help recommend a suitable vr4 friendly workshop for the job!

Yeah get them changed quick !
I started to get noise on mine about 2 months ago and parked it until i got the parts and got a mobile mechanic to install, he did a good job and did it all in about 45 minutes.
I cant really recommend a mechanic because im not in VIC, but any mechanic should do it easier, its a no brain'r, i would have did it myself but i try'd and didnt have the right tools so i thought i might as well pay someone instead of buying the tools and i still can to it haha.

Techsport in Bayswater can do it, they are the evo and vr4 specialists. At the end of the day they are just control arms and any mechanic can do them. its more a 30 min - 1 hour job at a workshop.

Yeah, just dont want to take it a mechanic that will turn a 1hr job into 3-4hr job and rip u off. As everyone is aware theres plenty out there that will get as much as they can get out of u.

HCW Automotive in Box Hill south wont rip you off. Genuine blokes that work there and they also know their way around a vr4 thanks to me :)
