Just wondering if the key that i have here is the factory key and if so where can i get it fixed as its not working the central locking at all

Rhys does that key have the mitsi symbol on the back? That looks like the pre-July '98 remote central locking key to me.

The battery has probably just died, is there a screw on the other side? If so, unscrew it and get a new battery for it. Once its working again it should just work, but just in case you need to re-register it with the car:

Where it says connect the MUT-II, instead just connect pins 1 and 4 here:

If all that doesn't work, either your key or the receiver may be dead or faulty (and I'd be looking at the key here, unless you've blown a fuse controlling power to the receiver). Replacement keys are around $120 from Japan - I got a new one myself 'cause I wasn't comfortable not having a backup to my alarm and immobiliser

it certainly does look like a stock key, as for not working as Trevor said replace the battery. I replaced the one in my key and it still didnt work as the little push button switch inside the key was sticking. I put a really tiny bit of wd40 on it and it now works good as new.

Got this to work finally. Some of the parts inside were filthy and just needed a clean, cheers guys

sorry to bring up and old thread..

I have just tried this with my brand new key , and am having no luck..

I cant even get the doors to lock/unlock as it says just after step 3..


What the hell is going on!

But I've got a problem getting into the secret code section.
It says from off to acc on to off again and repeat 3 times. So does that make 4 in total?
And should the sequence end in the off position?

Yeah mate, this tripped me out but you do end up in the off position.
So its *from off* ->acc->off/// ->acc->off/// ->acc->off //// lock will click here
