Just wanted to introduce myself here. I just purchased a 98 leggy vr4 from Japan. Since I can't overnight cars from Japan, I'm waiting and trying to learn more about these cars. I did get some 17" rims added before export. This is my first VR4, I always wanted a 3000gt but never could afford one, so this is my "family version". I do believe it has the stealth tailgate, and came with the MMC, but I am not 100% sure. Since I am in the US, any cross reference for parts will be greatly appreciated. I have heard some of the eclipse parts interchange and I'm sure Mitsubishi sourced several parts from other vehicles bins. Any general information, things to look for, warning signs etc will be helpful.

Congrats on her. Where in the US are you?

Here is a site of all parts for the VR4 - just select which version you have. Mine is the LYGF1. Look at your badge under the hood to confirm.

Most parts are easy to find. The Legnum has many of the same part numbers as the Eclipse, Diamante, Outlander and 3000GT.

I am in South Carolina. Thanks for the link, I'll bookmark it for when I need it in the future

While researching production numbers, I discovered this car is one of 14 in this color T08 with option package 438. It is one of 4 of the 14 with the interior code 25J, and the last one of the two with auto transmission

It is in my possession now! Drive it 300 miles home from the port. Everything is good except for the radiator that has a small crack in the top tank.

Glad to hear that more are in the states. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. I've already had mine a year and a half and I done lots of work to her.

That sub enclosure is sweet! I like the intercooler also. I assume the boost pipes were larger diameter? Have you swapped the radio? If so did a standard galant harness fit?

I believe it was the Galant harness that did work for me. Boost pipes are now 2.75"

I did have a BOV for a bit but was messing with the shifting since I have auto. I upgraded to an Evo X BOV which is metal

The gauges look good right there. What option code does yours have?
