Hey all,

Im currently halfway through doing a timing gear/water pump change and ive hit a bit of a hurdle. I tried to lock the rear bank cams together with a rubber wedge, but my method failed and as soon as tension came off the belt they let go. Ive now made up a locking tool similar to the other ones ive seen being used on here and 6G's, but im having no luck getting the pulleys lined up and in place safely enough to stick to my fingers in there. Ive tried cable ties over two 17mm spanners but I cant seem to get that to work, they just slip too much. Anyone else been stuck in a similar situation and have an idea of where to go from here?

Managed to get it this afternoon with an extra pair of hands and a shitload of cable ties.

You can use benchtop joiners as well. They have C shaped fittings on either end with a threaded rod - they work a treat.
