MAF (air flow meter) wiring questions

hay guys just wanted a bit of knowledge on maf sensor we have 7 wires comming from the plug on the maf its self , my question is does any one know what wire is what ? there is iat , baro ,air flow ect whats what and what pins on plug? hope i explained this right and did not confuse any one.

I think Theres a pinout on cvr4. if not im sure i have one somewhere....

Dont quote me... off the top of my head fro memory:

pin 1 - +5v (from ECU)
pin 2 - Baro Output
pin 3 - MAF Output
pin 4 - +12v (MFI Relay)
pin 5 - Ground
pin 6 - IAT Output
pin 7 - MAF Reset Signal

not 100% sure, i''m yet to find/look into it from a disassembly perspective.

I do know that there is a testing procedure for it. When the throttle is shut, it wont do much, over ~3000 RPM + 1/3 throttle, should start producing a signal

thanks people im not 100% on the baro though, all depends on wich way i look at the plug i think, cause i know i have my baro on ither pin 6 or pin 2 i remember wireing that one in. any one got a colour code?

Hi Shane,

I've done a bit of research to make sure the evo 9 maf is reasonably compatible with our VR4. Yet to be proven though will see when I put the MAF on that I bought from an FQ340. Apparently they're good to 750hp.

Here are the VR4 maf plug pins that correspond to the ecu and the wire colours:

Iam getting code 25 barometric pressure sensor , would this be why I don't get hi rev for cold start any more?

Your idle speed solenoid is possibly dead.
