Got a problem, today the remote boot release on my tj magna stopped working properly. The electrical bit still works but it doesn't unlatch. Neither key turns in the lock and it's only got the pathetic porthole in the back seat. Is there some form of manual override? Or do I just take to it with a sledgehammer.

If you take out the back seat, you might be able to get into the boot... there is a frame that goes across, but it's gap in between is usually much bigger than the ski hole.

got it sorted, the lock barrel jammed and prevented the boot from opening. Apparently it's quite common in magnas with remote boot release. To fix it, I took out the back seat and swapped the lock with one from a wreckers, fairly easy in the end.
