Is there any mechanics in Melbourne, preferably Nth East/Eastern suburbs that know there way around leggys? Or if someone want to volunteer to do my alternator.

MitsFix should be able to do it at a reasonable price. Alternatively give it another shot, it's just about maneuvering the engine and the alt until it falls down/goes up.

You could give Revzone in Ringwood a try. Previous owner of my Legnum had them do a full engine/turbo rebuild and alternator replacement there. Seems like they know what they're doing.

If its just an alternator any sparky can do the job
