2001 Legnum VR-4
Hey guys, name's Aaron and i'm from Adelaide. I don't own a VR4 yet, but hoping to get my hands on one in the near future!

I'm 21, my first car which I got at 17 was a manual 1996 TE Magna which was a great car (my parents now still own it) which I had done a fair few visual/handling mods to. I got to the stage where I realised I was basically getting it to VR-X specs, so I sold it to my folks and bought a manual 2002 TJ VR-X Magna back in 2009. Did a few visual/handling mods to this and then a couple months ago began doing some labouring work so regretfully sold the Magna and bought a manual 2001 AU2 XR6 Ute. I've now got another job and no longer need the ute so it's up for sale and i'm hoping to get my hands on a manual facelift Leggie soon.

I have been pretty heavily involved with the Aussie Magna Forums since getting my first Magna and heard pretty good things about these forums so i'm looking forward to soaking in some of the knowledge here and getting out to some events here in SA.

Welcome Aaron, you will not regret having a legnum or gallant. I've had mine for the past 3 yrs and haven't looked back, just looking forward to finishing the multiple projects that I've got going for it.

Yeah I did end up selling it. To a brother of one of the guys on AMC.

Unfortunately all the cash has to go on the front yard instead of rims for the Legnum :( LOL
 
So my ute just sold and i'm now in the market for a facelift manual Legnum for up to $12k if anyone knows of one! Prefer one that's stock as possible and i'm pretty fussy!
 
Or you could just get one with the mods that you would be doing anyway...Knowing what I do now, I'd happily buy a modded Legnum ONLY if it was coupled with proof of fastidious servicing. I've seen a few well loved examples move on this forum that have gone for cheap too. Could save yourself some bucks.
 
^ What he said. My first Legnum was imported and was essentially bone stock. From there until about 2 months ago (not including maintenance costs) it cost me about an extra $7k in mods, then I sold it for basically the same as what I paid for it! Then I bought an already-modded Legnum with probably an extra $4-5k of mods over my old one for not much more. I guess the moral of the story is, if you want to mod, don't bother fishing around for a stock one when there are modded ones available that have been looked after. It's just not a good financial decision lol.

Buying from a member here is probably a good start to assuring the car has been cared for in Australia.
 
Absolutely agree with Joe and Tom..most people on here have pretty tasteful mods and only use the best aftermarket parts or genuine parts..so if you have a little patience some nie cars pop up for sale from time to time...

Yea i've actually come around to that idea, however it's proving hard to find a manual facelift leggie in my price range! I'm starting to get impatient now so how much roughly would I be looking at for a manual conversion if I were to buy an auto?
 
3-4k if you can find the parts
 
They aren't the most common ones up for sale!
I probably didn't help you by buying one of them :P

If you ask the members who went through a manual conversion they would probably tell you to save your money and buy a manual the first time around. I'd probably agree with that, I'd imagine it would be a headache from start to finish.
 
Just put a deposit on an 01 pearl white leggie with 70km freshly complied for $13,700 pick it up Thursday can't wait!
