MMCS differences in each model?

what is the difference between the 97 and the 2000 spec cars. MMCS is different from what I can see the 97 doesn't have total closure like the later car.

what else is different.?

I have a 97 here now and I'm working out a few things for it.

MMCS does infact change from 4:3 to 16:9 ratio screen, thats about it.

For other changes, do a search for facelift, prefacelift or series 1 and 2

ok thats more what I was looking for. looking at a work around for the language issue on the early cars.

I'm yet to strip the 97 wagon I have here hence the questions.

I do know the later car is data driven unsure about this one.

found somehting interesting for those that want to fiddle. the screens and navs have the same pinout from 97 (s1) to 2000 (s2) so theoretically you can swap from early to late fairly easily.

that will solve the language issue.

as fro doing it via software. I'm a hardware person. if someone wants to disasemble the later code go for it. I have another car due shortly so I'll take a few snaps of the nav stripped.
