Hey guys,

Just a quick intro - My names Tom and I'm from Adelaide. Been through quite a few cars in my relatively short time on the road and am already hitting the familiar stage of still wanting a turbo import, but sick of getting reamed by defect laws about modifications. Have been hunting for a few weeks for a new car trying to decide whether I'll be smart and buy a Magna wagon, get of the scene and what not, or get a stock TT Supra and decimate my budget.

Anyway don't know why it took so long to remember Legnums (As I've always had a soft spot for them) but hey, there you go. Better yet, and to my pleasant surprise (Probably not yours, as owners! :P) they've come down in price alot and are now very affordable for me.

My main problem is the lack of cars for sale in SA, hence I'm going shopping interstate. I'm wondering if anyone in Vic or NSW would be willing to help me with regards to inspecting a car on my behalf? Would really appreciate someone who knows enough about them to go and have a suss to save me the hassle of airfares and the possibility I end up with a boonga. Obviously I'd be happy to re-compensate you for your time!

Hi Tom,

I just picked up a cheap black one in Japan, it'll be up on the site soon. Otherwise the white one of Steve's is a good buy if you wanna get one locally.

Those two look tough as but I think I'm after something a little more stock. Really only want something clean as, stock, maybe with aftermarket rims.

Not buying till next month so plenty of time to scout out a car.

Roughly how long is the period between buying a car in Japan and having it landed, ready to go here Kristian? Just from adding together the various time estimates on your website, it seems like 10-12 weeks? That about right?

Hay man welcome to the club. Have you had a look at the 2 Dawso has for sale i have seen both of these Legnums and they are very clean nice wagons.
 
welcome to the site and itd be great having yet another legnum in the state. there are a few for sale on the site at the moment if you have a look in the for sale section. otherwise importing is possible if you have time to wait. depends on your situation. legnums are great. one advice would be to eventually do something with the suspension (lower it or something) coz standard i think they float like a boat. welcome
 
I'm new too. If you find a car here in Sydney you'd like checked out drop me a line. I may be able to go and view it.

If it seems ok I'd suggest a further check by NRMA or so to satisfy yourself. I know how difficult it can be purchasing by proxy.
