well, decided to do this as it keeps me busy and poor,

this will be a mostly DIY project, and I'm in no rush or have the funding to do things fast and well.

i will document and post as much info as i can, while i do this,
including costs, sources of technical info, and part sources

first of all I've decided to go with wrx/forester TD04L-13T's
for the a couple of reasons... dirt cheap, and its been done successfully before,

first purchases, 2x forester turbos at $90nzd each + shipping from www.trademe.co.nz

these have both now arrived, and have been stripped down,

both came from 97 foresters

this is a couple of pics of the exhaust side mounted on a spare front manifold,
the inner center bolt lines up perfectly, but the other 2 are way out...

dump pipe side,

i plan on using the internal gates to keep costs down, so need to source a couple of suitible weld flanges for these,

pic's of the core's i think ill rebuild these, just to be on the safe side,

and the intake housings...

lol... this will take me alot of time...
but im open to donations to speed things up :)

Excellent mate, I'm happy to see it. From your work and effort to document it all stage by stage I'm sure it will inspire a lot of other people to also do the upgrade. And from this will come a whole lot of ass whipping 8th gen VR-4s.

Top work Gly.... Its one thing to swap turbo's

Its another to do it yourself and document it all for others
