Mystery Rubber Plug

Ha! well I got you to check this thread, didn't I?

I was working on the Leggie (front wheels, undertray, bumper, grille, headlights all removed and reinstalled) and when I'd put it all back together I found this on the ground under the engine bay. I swept the area clear before I started so I can only assume it came from my car.

Any idea what it is?

But on the rotors they have that plug to put in a screw to push off the rotor at times

Nah, the thing I found is too small, and the BISS cap is still in place anyway.

Didn't touch airbox.

The brake caliper bleed nipples are more like end caps if I remember right...

Nah... my kids know better than to mess with my car, and my wife would have no interest in it.

Have your headlights been modified? I would be inclined to think it's a small bung to seal them in.

Otherwise it's probably flicked up from the road at some point and your work in the engine bay has dislodged it.

Headlight units were swapped with new(er) ones. But I swapped all the globes and fittings and didn't notice any rubber plugs like that.

It's smaller than that, and not painted. It's hard rubber.
