but just had a thought.. if it was a loose intake pipe.. why did it end up working in the morning?

can't really say that heat opened up the intake pipe.. cause during the day it would've been quicker for the car to heat up than at night...

They can reseal themselves sometimes and pop off again under boost. It could also be loose maf wiring

loose MAF wiring does makes more sense.. when you're on boost.. might be getting pushed/pulled hence the engine stall..

see if what's with it.. if there are any debris right after the filter.. but there shouldn't any obvious signs of damage..

see if the connector is loose.. also check for the clip that holds the connector in place..

I had the plug for the MAF fall off in my old magna and it exhibited the exact same symptoms you've mentioned. Quick and easy thing to check for too, I cleaned it as well for extra insurance.

Does it idle ok? The magna spluttered and coughed like an old man.

I second the loose wireing.
Also its a good idea to undo and click back in all wire connections as dirt and loose wires can be hard to find problems as I had the car running on 3 cylinders once and it was the plug in front of the intake manifold that was loose but drove us crazy and took 3 hours to find..
