Hey guys,

New to the VR4's and am already somewhat impressed with my 97' Legnum...

Just got a awfull shudder when in 5th (at low RPM's, approx 1400-1500) when the engine/trans is hot, seen many suggestions that its only the torque converter playing up as the oil is thinning out because the car has been sitting for many years with the old trans oil in it... but any suggestions would be appreciated...

Also, my Legnum is much the same to Adam's (OZVR4 - cant believe that he got that username, and also the mate that put me onto the Legnums)...
Silver, 49,000kms, moon roof, tv, sat-nav (with the CD's), electric everything, plastic boot protector (petty i know, but i dont know anyone that has one), polished ally scuff rails, black cloth interior, but its an AUTO... From what i can see is the kms are legit as there is absolutely NO WEAR in the usual places, seats are all 100% and the drivers door trim is like new!!!

Was another good buy mate, sort the shudder out and I'm sure you will get much enjoyment out of it.

Pics!!

I would post some pics but the person that detailed the car before i picked it up did an abysmal job and to post any pics would not be doing the vehicle any justice what so ever!!! I just wish i knew someone that knew what they were doing and i would get them to detail it for me... :P

Thanks Jeremy, that seems to be the common consenus amongst most forums, although have been told that it could be a busted drive shaft (only a possibility though)... looking at adding a trans cooler with the flush which will hopefully happen in the coming week...

Welcome mate, I have had my Leggy for 3 weeks today and I'm loving every second I spend in it.It will grow on you VERY quickly I'm sure. What did you drive before the new girl?

Welcome aboard jarrad

What suspension have you got? Sometimes low quality suspension can cause vibrations at random RPMs.

Sounds like wrong fluid in the automatic gearbox, very common only shudders in high gear low rpms. The right fluid should sort it out.

Welcome Jarrad, this ^^^^^^^ is the best bet for sorting out the shudder. Gotta get the right spec of fluid, but they are a nice auto box.

Started with a Sigma GSR (first car), moved onto a '84 VG20T Nissan 300zx, then a 1996 BMW 318is then decided to go to the AWD turbo so i bought a '98 WRX that i sunk too much money into (dont want to think about it), got some real good Kw's at the wheels, but it was on its way out (gear box etc), had a VL Turbo during this time (needed to do the brake upgrade on the WRX and needed to get around so came across this real cheap and sold it within a month, after doing the brakes on the WRX for $2k more than i paid)... then went on holidays overseas for a few months sold it prior, then went onto a 2003 Pugeot 206 (got it REAL cheap), then (and still have) a D21 Navara Tray-top for the moto-x but am looking at getting rid of the ute ASAP!!!

Basically just sold my 2005 Yamaha R6 and saw Adams Leggy the other week and had the cash to buy this one so i did...

All in all i have had an array of cars along the way and have learnt alot and spent a bucket load but made a few $'s aswell...
