Today I saw a facelift Legnum VR-4 with 18 inch chrome wheels on the front and and stock 16 inch wheels on the back. Would there be any point to this? I've seen something similar on RWD V8 cars and that's for doing burnouts, but what about a VR-4?

Flat tyre and used a spare for mean time?

Otherwise he's probably just trying to destroy the driveline as missmatched diameter wheels will kill it pretty quickly ;)

Not a flattie. He had stock rims on both rear wheels and of course aftermarket rims on both front wheels.

as long as, both rims have the same overall rolling diameter, it'll be fine.. if its out by more than 1.5% then you're screwed :D

215/40/18 and 225/40/18 are very close to stock and you could probably get away with it, but it is still better to run the same all round
