Throught it would be nice to post i problem i have had with my legnum it's a 2000 model with turbo back pipes, pod with heat sheild, coil overs 18's & fiber bonnet.
I noticed that under full load around 4-5000 RPM i was getting a engine cut or miss, i went down the parth of new plugs and leads and had the coil packs checked all good but still getting a cut. I then had a boost guage fitted and noticed that it was a boost spike issue the following day i spat the intercoller pipes from over boost, after sorting the clamps out i had the turbos and wast gate checked and the report came in as the wast gates are jamed closed is this a common issue for a car with 64000 on the clock? I would think not.

Now being that i'm having the turbos removed for repair and the labor to remove and refit being around 80 percent of the cost i was thinking about having them high flowed while they are out, are there gains to be made by having them hi flowed as i do not want to change to aftermarket turbos and incure all the other related cost involved in a swap. Has any on had the factory turbos hi flowed? If so how do they perform?

Are you running a factory ECU? We get fuel cut over 19psi....

Just put in a manual boost controller and wind it down a bit.

Spend coin on getting your turbo's hi flowed... but then wont you need an after market ECU / bigger injectors + fuel pump too?

I really don't know what i'm talking about I just read here a lot :)

All comes down to how much money you want to spend. I'd probably just get them rebuilt as stock unless you want to spend a lot of money.

It sounds strange that both would be jammed shut. You sure the car does not have a bleed valve?

There also could be an issue with the hoses that run to your wastegate actuators. Maybe the Y piece has cracked or there is a split/kink somewhere?

On my old datto, i just put some compressed air into the actuator as it was sticking. Pushed it open and never had the problem again.

std ecu.

I was thinking more along the lines of a gizmo IBC boost controler once i have to waste gates issue sorted.

Anyone fitted an IBC to a Legnum?

I hear good things and the price is right too.

It does seem odd that both are jammed, which leed me to think of all the stuf i have heard over the years that they do in japan to get more power like bend wast gate arms or "weld waste's gates shut", will wait and see what the shop has to say when they get them off, i droped it off on tuesday arvo and they are doing a wheel bearing as well (dam money pit).

Sorry to dig up an old thread, and sorry to rehash such a well trodden topic, but Im curious.

I've trawled this site & the pommy one for hours looking for someone that has actually high flowed the TD03. All I can find is "Yeah I knew a bloke that did it, can't remember where thou" type replies.

As you can image, I have absolutely f**k all space in my engine bay to go up a tub size (and to be quite honest, I really like the way she spools up so quick just as it is) so Im considering high flowing the OEM items for a few extra horsies. I've got a spare set of tubs (ex Mad Havs via qball lol) and have a mates rates shop that will do it for me. Im just trying to make their job a little easier by finding out what bits they can use. Ie compressor & exhaust wheel types, bearing types & how much / what metal to machine out of the exhaust snout etc etc.

Any info would be great!

I really think you should start a new thread for this one mate, people will look at the title and just keep on browsing.
