Hey boys and girls,

Looking to get a manual Leggy pretty soon, need a fun car again! Stealthy, quick, and satisfies my wagon fetish.

Does anyone know if the TWIN TURBO INTERCOOLER badge/section on the front rocker cover is removable? Or would it have to be chopped/machined off? I'm looking to avoid, ah, extra attention and inquiry from certain prying eyes. ;)

Same goes for the snails - are they pretty hard to see in that super tight engine bay? Anyone seen/sells/made heatshields or something similar for them?

Thanks!
Oh, one more thing...the rear spoiler on PFLs looks pretty integrated into the hatch fascia, so could you retrofit a FL fascia without the spoiler? Yeah, I'm trying to make it look like a Magna as much as possible...hahaha.

Hi
Engine cover just screws off, I don't think you'd be able to tell the turbos if you didn't know they were there. Fronts of the cars (PFL - FL) are interchangeable but not the boots (wagons). Just take the badges off and replace them with Magna ones

Oh awesome, thanks, so it just reveals the front intake mani without that cover?

Yeah I'll be debadging, debating on whether to use a Magna/Verada one or leave it blank haha.

I know the whole boots arent, just thought I might have had a chance with the spoiler & surround. :(

Oh, anyone have suggestions for an ultra silent BOV? Last VR4 I heard with stock BOV was still very clearly turbo.

A sleeper wagon? You've got the right car!

A good (and practical) BOV upgrade is to buy the Evo MR BOV. Not silent but none of that VTA scare the pedestrians stuff either.

Our plastic BOVs aren't great at holding big boost.

welcome to ozvr4..

recirc or VTA will unfortunately make a noise.. well recirc, not much but you'll still know..

Hello Andrew
stock BOV is silent, completely silent. Some cops might know its turbo but I think most would notice all the extra piping, especially in a twin turbo car and would figure it out.

Piping's a concern, but if it looks plain enough, hopefully I won't get pulled over at all. You might be giving Brisbane cops more credit than they deserve haha. Holding boost higher than stock isn't a concern yet - I need stealth over power, but it's good to know it's silent, at least on low throttle.

Thanks for the help all!

I'd worry more about not driving like a tool than removing engine covers. As stealthy cars go, the Legnum is up there with "WTF, I got beaten by a bodykitted Magna?".

Oh, and Welcome :D

sounds like a P plater to me.

they wont hassle you mate,

i hav been hassled only once...nothing to do with a turbo car

stock bov is quiet, you should stop worrying

P-plater? Noooooo, of course not hahahaha

It'll be a weekender until I come off them in 8 months anyway. Just want to take all the precautions I can. Getting caught driving something turbo ain't the best thing for the points on my license.

Rah rah rah, wait it out, don't be a tool, etc. =D
I can't live without a fun car anymore and no point getting something N/A for a weekender if I'll keep it for such a short time.

Seems like you got a good community going here too :)

yeah just man up dude, get it, dont drive around like a spoonhead and know one will know...and obviously dont put your Proffesional Driver Plates on it

8 months isn't long dude, if I were you.. I'd rather be safe than sorry.. or buy 1 now, get your dad to drive it for 8 months then get it back after..

just be careful if your gonna drive a turbo car, if you crash into something there wont be insurance or anything like that to bail you out

Just want to take all the precautions I can.

Seems like the best precaution would have been not to buy one! There are seriously great NA cars you can get these days & have heaps of fun with until you are on your full licence.
Like the others said, kept well under the radar & debadge it & don't make yourself a target for the men in blue.

Chris makes a really good point.

You can take all the precautions you want but if you run into the back of a Ferrari, the insurer will walk away ...
