hi,

I couldn't get the new database to work. I just need twp simple part numbers to hopefully get my car a safety cert for selling.

I broke the "rear seat hook" lugs. They are a plactic receptacle that sits in the frame and the rear seat clips into the lugs. The mechanic didn't seem to try very hard to find a replacement

The other is an engine mount. Apparently one of mine is damaged and needs replacing.

Anyone know the part numbers?

Alternatively whomis a good mechanic for gallants who can also do safety certificates? I used to go to carmen but he sold the business

Thanks

If it's the lower part of the rear seat (the large cushion) you're talking about, with the clips that are under the seat, the part number is MB873947. They are used on a LOT of models.

In regards to the engine mount you need to be more specific - which one is it? Engine side, transmission side, rear roll stopper or the front one?
And if it's the transmission one, is the car manual or auto? (They differ).

You're a legend! Thanks.

Got some random to do my safety cert and before hand he said no problems fixing anything, then it all became too hard for him to even bother. Never had a mechanic balk at getting parts until now.

Yes it is the clip that goes under the rear seat, it sits in the metal, frame and thenseats locks into it. Looking around it seems it is the same clip on nearly every bloody Mitsubishi ever made.

I emailed him for the other descriptions. Here is what he sent.

.....

Here is the list if repairs required to be completed for your safety certificate: secure rear seat base, r/h rack end free play, r/h engine mount torn and tighten transmission pan then degrease.

....

He gave me a safety cert for my new gt370 crossover on the spot but wants a few things fixed on the galant.

If he's meaning the right hand as in looking down at the engine bay, that's the transmission mount. Is the car auto or manual?

Wait, you're in QLD, Australia? - For some reason I thought you were overseas,
You don't need part numbers, you need @TME_Steve to hook you up with the replacements.

Btw, you could even get them from supercheap auto these days but they're not cheap.

Yep in Queensland. No idea why this mechanic couldn't get the parts. Like I said I never had a problem before. The only reason to stay with this guy is because if I go elsewhere I have to pay for the inspection again. Where as if I get these parts this guy will sign off on the inspection.
