Hi all!

I've been sneaking around for a few weeks, it all started with thinking about getting a VR4 next, so I went to google to have a look at some pictures of HOT VR4s! after several click i saw one of the description with " ozvr4.com" so i thought i'll check it out...turns out this is an excellent forum!

Currently I am attempting to sell my 93 Integra LS...only had it for a while, but its my 3rd integra...previously had a TypeR, blew the engine on the track so i sold it bought a cheaper one to track. However, after i purchased this 3rd one, I've realized I am totally over Integras...I've half completed the car and its just sitting on the drive way barely driven. A few months back girlfriend bought a Mini Cooper JCW R56. sooooooo much fun, that's all I drive nowadays, makes me hate the integra even more ROFL...I NEED TURBOOOO

Anyway, VR4 really fulfill all my wishes. I want:

Wagon - so i can chuck all my crap at the back or take it to Drive-in and lay at the back to watch a movie
Respectable - the VR4 just looks so mean!
Power - 2.5L v6 TT...so much potential
Handling - 4WD with AYC - yeah i'll be looking at possibly S2 only
Mods - seems easy enough with certain EVO parts, pretty sure Evosport can help since they specialize in evos

so, I hope i can get rid of my bomb for a fairly decent price then I can start looking for a nice white manual S2!!!

I will be extremely tempted to do up another track car with the VR4..but part of me is thinking maybe its time i move to another direction....maybe a bit more VIP style?

BTW, i've seen a few of you around S.E burbs...very very nice!

That is all!

You've certainly come to the right spot if you're looking for a VR4!!!

Welcome

G'Day Adam, welcome to the site. I went from a Honda to the VR4 too, it's quite a natural progression. High revving engines like the teggys really do give you the need to go one better and the 6A13 is an awesome little unit.

Have you actually started looking for one or do you have to sell your car first?

unfortunately i'll have to sell my car first...it'll be a little while before i'll get one but its a very definitely decision. i was going to sell the car to get a bike...but i just cant stop thinking how much fun i'll have with a legnum!

i can easily get a s1 if i sell, but i do want a s2..so i might wait a little and save up...

Welcome Adam!

Have you test-driven a VR4 yet? If not, maybe one of the local members might offer a 'demonstration'!

Where 'bouts in SE Melb do you reside?

That would be awesome! but I will feel kinda awkward just meeting up for a free ride....I have driven evos ...6.5 how does it compare to that? i know the weight is a big factor...

I live in oakleigh

Hey Adam, welcome to the site.

Yeah good move man sell the Integra and get in a Leggy.

You can purchase one here in Aus but I recomend you import one yourself. Can be 2-3 month wait but the Iron Chef on here or J-Spec will be able to help you out.

but i trademarked mine! lol...

i am curious to know how the auto gearbox feels..when manually changing gears is it smooth with acceptable delay? or long delays?

how many post do i have to do before i can have more than one car in the garage under UserCP?

what color is ur car Gary? i'll flash or honk next time i see it..haha

Sites like this looks very interesting...

Just a quick question..i know there is a thread about it..i've gone through it quickly..

but what is the best way you'd suggest me to go about getting one of these..coz i know there are all these compliance issues and stuff.....

find the car you want then talk to kritian aka ironchef, he's a member on here and also on his convienent website (jus google iron chef imports)

or you just email him sayin you want a legnum with XX and YY specs and he'll do his best to find it

That auto in tip-tronic mode is quicker than manual shifts and really goes hard. We have wash meets every few weeks and we would be more than happy to take you for a spin man, no sweat.

yeah i know the shift will be quick with tiptronic...but i m the kinda guy that loves the traditional manual...its just not the same LOL..but i am open to see what its like...

well next time you guys have a meet, I might pop down with a friend to have a chat...mate of mine just bought a golf...but after i told him about the legnum he's thinking of selling it rofl...

Just had a look at the Iron chef site, it does look rather expensive to have the car imported and complied....

ALSO, i am confused...which year/model of legnum comes with AYC..or is it just an option?

All Legnum's come with AYC apart from some facelift autos, but they are rare and easy to spot.

Only Galants are tricky when it comes to AYC. As for prices, it's actually cheaper to import, usually, that it is to buy locally. I got my 2002 manual with teins, exhaust, immaculate interior and exterior for 14k landed and complied. Cant beat that.

Get manual , dont bother with the auto.

TTv6 = potential if you are willing to R/D alot of shit + have money.

Having said that , i would happily buy another leggy , and am looking to within the next 2 years.

I'm currently at the end of my importation process using Kristian (Iron Chef). He's really good and the two main pluses of importing are that you can most likely find that car you really want in Japan and you pay while you go (giving you time to save). However the importation process is not a quick one and you get very itchy feet, haha!

In saying that welcome aboard!

Also see what sort of stuff you want out of your car. The manual is going to allow you to be a bit more flexible when it comes to aftermarket ECU's and stuff but an auto is a great tool to use as a daily driver. Decisions! :)

yeah...i think i am over tracking...so just going to settle with a nice pimped out ride! lol..

i just want a clean nice interior..i want recaro...unless i keep my current brides but they are fixed bucket so i rather something more confortable now...

the importing process sounds fun..i m hoping to spend under 10k to be honest...
even if its stock its ok as i'll be able to source parts from hk rather cheap...

i think the only things i'll want to do is: brakes, coilovers, sway bars? if possible..I will do power mods too but more into handling...i am the kinda guy that will drive legally at 80km/hr street...and try to keep the same speed even when i have to turn at the lights..hahaha
