Hey guys thought I would share.
I had been driving around with my K&N filter bolted onto the MAF for about six months and could never work out the bad fuel economy and why the boost cut was coming in around 9psi.
I just jammed a 28cm long drain pipe (9cm diameter wide) and now the filter sits where the battery used too as mine is in the boot.
I straight away disconnected the battery for about 5min or so to reboot the ecu and then wow.
Straight away the car felt more responsive and my boost jumped a little bit to about 10-11psi and no more boost cut.
The straight pipe before the MAF really does make a huge improvement.
Thanks to all of the feedback from several of the guys and I will check out my fuel consumption and post the figures in a few days.
I will however probably not post the figures from the first fuel tank as I have now cranked the boost up to about 12-13psi and driving around on full boost a bit too much.Dont forget that in Cutiestan its only a $1.5 fine on most case's as like the one I paid today for running a red light.
Installing the stereo upgrade in the next day or to aswell so I will post some info on that too and will do pictures of all my mods in the comming week.

By the way I forgot to ask what most guys are running on a manual boost controller as I ran 15-16psi and it went fast but I felt that between 1st and second there was a hesitation on the gear change (a quick hesitation only) and then a shit load more boost so was this due to me not running a bigger intercooler and a factory BOV. Thats my impression any ideas??
Cheers

This is exactlly what I'm going to do ... few people have been complaining about the way the AFM works and how the pod sucks in air, and a simple pipe pulling it away from the sensor is all it needs ...
Nice work, I feel more confident about putting my pod on now ;)
