GROUP BUYS GENERALLY
The general premise of Group Buys is that OzVR4 members get together and use their buying power to obtain a better deal. They are for personal private buyers only and do not include, using any interpretation, items being sold at group buy prices.
APPROVAL OF GROUP BUYS
Prior approval is required for all Group Buys arranged on the site. There are a number of reasons for this, one of which is is to ensure that persons wishing to sell items cannot use this as another mechanism to sell by stealth and thus circumvent the equality we strive to obtain for all vendors and members when effecting sales.
Vendors (ie who operate as a business or for profit) will not be approved to run Group Buys. For vendors with ABNs who wish to offer discounts for groups of people purchasing, please post in the non-aligned vendor area. For vendors without ABNs, please post in the ebay area. Separate rules apply in those areas.
Members who have been able to obtain a special price for group purchases through a supplier will also not be approved to run Group Buys. It is however recognised that such items are likely to be of interest to members. In such circumstances, the vendors behind the sales are encouraged to make a post in the Non-Aligned Vendor (for sale) area having sought approval as outlined in that area. This makes it absolutely clear to all parties who is dealing with who.
It is likely that only members who are known as genuine group buyers will be given approval ie if you have only been on the site for a short time or are not known, then approval is likely not to be given.
REQUIREMENTS OF GROUP BUYS
Group Buys are required to operate in the following manner.
- PM the forum admins for approval
- they may ask questions about the proposed Group Buy
- once approval is given, they will ask you to provide the content for the first post in the Group Buy thread
- the admins will approve the new thread as access to creating new threads in the Group Buy forum require approval
- once the supplier is known, approval of the supplier is required from the admins and FULL details of the supplier must be provided to the admins for them to post them into the FIRST post of the thread. Personal suppliers of Group Buys will not be permitted.
- members arrange to order in bulk, or there can be other alternatives eg where members can contact the supplier directly and mention the Group Buy for the discounted product etc.
- if the admins believe there to be unacceptable risk of purchase orders being accumulated with one person, then there may be a requirement that all members must order directly with the supplier. This could occur, for example, in the case of subtle differences in products being ordered.
- all members participating in a Group Buy where orders are accumulated and given to the supplier by the one person take the risk themselves that the person placing the order may get it wrong.
- each member involved in the Group Buy is required to settle with the supplier INDIVIDUALLY. No money is to be given by members to other members to facilitate settlement.
- Group Buys are required to be just that, Group BUYS. The settlement and delivery is not permitted to be on a group basis. This provides absolute clarity as to who is dealing with who and ensures members deal directly with registered and approved businesses.
- items must relate to EC5x VR4's and related Mitsubishi vehicles.
CAVEAT EMPTOR
All transactions are between the members and suppliers directly and OzVR4 takes no responsibility for issues arising. Caveat emptor!
KEEPING THE GROUP BUY UP TO DATE
The Group Buy originator must continue be involved with the thread until the parts are delivered or the group buy terminated. If this is not done, you risk the thread being locked.
ONE MORE THING
If any person is found to be receiving any benefit or trying to receive any benefit from organising a Group Buy (other than a lesser price for the Group Buy goods being bought), they will be removed from the site. Anyone suspected of this will also suffer the same fate. The responsibility for ensuring absolute transparency, fairness and compliance with these rules in Group Buys rests with each member participating. Do not expect fair treatment if absolute transparency, fairness and compliance with the rules does not occur.
