ST-R's are non-turbo versions of VR-4's. You will be familiar with the engine as it is standard in German Galants. The German ones are tuned for 121kw though, the Jap ones are 129kw.

ST-R's have 4wd, 5 stud hubs (so VR-4 brakes fit on, they come standard with VR-4 wheels), are available in 5 speed manual and 4 speed tiptronic and are about 150kg lighter than a VR-4. I have one and I love it

Every owner of one of the Supers should have a certificate!

The first bit is just for Galant's and Legnum sold in Japan, the others are exports.

EA2 (2.0 R4 - or "GLS") and EA6 (2.0 TD) were not sold in Japan. Still looking for the european models.

If anyone of you has the ASA password, let me know =)

Im not interested in the galant numbers. Its more for the potential argument im going to have with the insurance company im claiming off.

One of 800 produced sounds pretty rare to me. And I suppose there is no guarantee that all 800 were sold...

Do you have your certificate? ;-)

I'm pretty sure all of them were sold, but how many were wrecked so far? I have seen 2. But do you really think the insurance company makes a difference between Super and normal VR-4, I mean it's just a different body kit & a few interior things.

the ins co im claiming off are oblidged to do one of two things.

1. Put me back in my vehicle as it was before the accident or..

2. Give me enough money to replace it with an identical vehicle.

An Ordinary VR4 no matter what way you look at it is NOT a Super VR4.

That different body kit and a few interior things cost a fortune.

But to answer you're question no I don't think the ins co will make the distinction and thats what I will be arguing with them.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but there were 6,041 Galants produced, and 34,419 Legnums produced, but we don't know the proportion of each that were ST-R's to VR4's? Or were the Galants only VR4's (never seen an ST-R Galant)? Brad didn't you have some production numbers listed elsewhere?
