Hi all,

as some of you might had known, I had showed interest in converting my FTO to A FTO VR4 ( i call it that way). Finally when the project is going to take place, my car had been written off due to an accident in Lithgow on a wet foggy day:(

anyway, I decided to still go ahead with the conversion. So i am still buying Ben's halfcut, buy another FTO and do it. (even though i am very tempted to buy a VR4 instead, But even the cheapest is $8000 and i am only getting $3000 from insurance)

Some of you who wants some parts, i'll let you know once i receive the halfcut and we will go from there. but prob have to wait a bit as i will be attending my sister's wedding in Malaysia and stay for a while.

Anyway, IF you guys know anyone that has a FTO for sale(engine condition not a prob) do let me know. or even a galant VR4. i wouldnt mind having a spare engine. haha

Whoa! Was there any damages to the Hilux besides the bent number plate?

a dent on the right reflector and moved the Hilux an inch towards the gutter. thats about it
 
hay mate also have a fto with legnum engine my mum and dad have a fto for sale but its in really good nick with 70000 klms on clock will find out how much if you like . is the drivers side upper engine mount any good in your old fto? if so how much ? dont care for bush as i will re-press it , the mount is attached next to timming belt covers. good luck with everything.

hey man. thanks. please let me know. and i'll check the condition of the upper engine mount and getr back to you once i got the wreck
 
anyone in sydney care to take me in their VR4 for a spin. i am looking at either a VR4 galant or FTO now
 
There's a cruise coming up on the 23rd June. Check out the NSW section.

You must have whacked that ute hard to do that much damage to your front end. Especially when most of Lithgow is 50km/h.

yes, it was a 50 zone. no idea how the hell that happen. i wasn't even speeding. had my girl and mate with me so i was driving slow. bad luck

and dont think i have a car to get anywhere now :(
 
oldies want $6000 for there fto wich i think is too much ,so i dont think that one will be good for you when you want to change everything any way. still interested in engine mount though.

Shame about the accident, at least you all were okay!

But damn Hilux's are tough?!

ya. there are a like a tank. Seen the one in top gear? just never dies.
 
you can get a vr4 for $6-8K..I'm sure it will cost you more to get an fto and convert it..not to mention the time frame and then ironing out the 'kinks'.
