Hey guys,

I'm under the impression Project VR-4 in NZ (https://projectvr4.nz/) is reputable but I want to confirm their legitimacy on the forums.

I'm in the US, so ordering stuff from across seas has a bit of natural skepticism attached.

Thoughts?

No. Do not conduct business with this man.
Hes banned from here and clubvr4.com for both ripping people off and threatening people.

He will promise you a price then double it on shipping last minute when he knows hes got you by the balls. As well as being known for not posting what was advertised.

Thank you for the heads up. I'm just looking to make my auto ST-R into a man VR4. Any advice?

Depends how "authentic" you want the conversion to be.
If you want it to be real OEM like. Not to be rude but just get a VR4.
If your ok with jimmying up some.shit to get it across the line and having the car be more ST-R with a VR4 powertrain type thing then and engine gearbox and transfercase with an aftermarket ecu and loom is probably the way

With how rare our cars are here, and how bloody hard it is to get parts, the 4g swap just makes more sense for us.

He is a scammer and an absolute prick.

I was getting desperate for boot carpet on my Galant and he quoted some price for shipping then after I paid, he more than doubled shipping. When I asked for a refund, he flew off the handle. Tried to charge almost 50% in "restocking fees" and made an absolute ass of himself on the PayPal dispute, embarrassing to read frankly.

Yeah his old postings have been lost to the ether. And alot of his threats to people were over private messages.

Its unfortunate for you Americans as hes hoarded so much stuff over the years but alot of the shit he sells is total rip off anyways. Prime example is he was trying to sell a half fucked used manual gearbox mount for like 350nzd or something. You can buy that part brand new from local parts shops for a hair over 150nzd. He is just leveraging the lack of parts availability there to bend you guys over on price.

Yes, I'm sure plenty of people have had fine transactions with him when you pay whatever he wants.

For reference, his timing kit is more than $200 more expensive than what Rob (Australian member) sells them for...

He also went on a spree buying every VR4 in NZ he could to try milk the boom in the US, as a business model it works but ethically, I find it a bit shit. Saving grace is the JDM car market has absolutely tanked here (Australia) and in NZ and these cars are back to being worth peanuts.

He is banned here and on clubvr4 for scamming people over a decade ago.

He still acts like a child today, see some choice screenshots below when he almost tripled the price of postage after I paid for items and then requested a refund.

I had no issues with an estimate, but when that estimate then more than doubles a refund is only fair. The rest of the fees he tried to slap on when I asked for a refund was just absurd. The PayPal dispute was frankly embarassing and PayPal sided with me.

Hes been around since the inception of OZVR4 so alot of the people he has done dirty have since sold their VR4s and or moved on to other platforms and are no longer active here.

The people like myself and Mezje have been around the block with VR4 stuff over the years.

By all means if you wanna give your money to this man thats your perogative and I'm not going to stop you. But I also wont loose any sleep if your dealings with him go tits up as ive done my dues by warning people about him.

He might one day grow up and start acting like an adult but to this day time and time again i hear stories exactly like Mezje outlined above.

Old mate is king gaslighter. Just tries his best to make it your fault when he tries to pull the wool over your eyes.
100%

He ghosting me for days on an order. Kept jacking around prices, kept ghosting me for 4-6 days at a time. Found them elsewhere cheaper, and after no invoice for 5 more days, sent a message canceling. He immediately replied and tried to make it my fault that he spent time and effort only for me to cancel the order. Somehow the onus was on me for his shit customer service.

Too bad because he has lots of stuff.

1998 Legnum VR4 - Bought it at 290,000KMs this thing stock as hell
1997 Legnum - Non Turbo 6A13 - just hit 200,000KMs! 15,000 since ownership
1998 Super VR4 - Living on jackstands... for now.
I have yet to have dealings with him. His prices are stupidly expensive. I DO NOT CONDONE WHAT HE HAS DONE.
But no doubt in my mind does he know his way around a Legnum, the sheer number he gets through are insane. Importing into America too, constant posts about VR4s on social media platforms. Setting market prices for used parts etc. He's doing things to the prices and making Legnums and Galants known in the wider market for the better and worse.
Not a fan of the legute though total Ship of Theseus deal there.
Pretty sure he turns up at Mitsubishi Owners Day every year?

If I had to guess this is him
