R34 GTR Rims (will they fit?)

Hi,

Just wondering if you guys could tell me if R34 GTR rims would fit on my pre face lift (with a face lift) Legnum.

18 x 9" + 30 all round.

I think it might be strecthing it a little, but would look good if they fit.

Even if you have to run without front calipers and have to massage the wheel arches slightly with a sledge.

Yeah I'm thinking about giving it a go.

It's either that or 18" or 19" bronze TE37

EVO 8 MR BBS 17's

Or the ones that are on it at the moment.

With 30mm offset 9" wheels you would need to have a facelift for a start with the wheel arches. You would also need to have very hard and high suspension on the back so you don't have tyre rubbing problems.

A good side would probably be 225/40, I doubt 235/40 would fit.

Forgot to say, EVO 8 wheels will fit perfectly fine, most 35-40mm offset wheels that are less than 8" wide won't be a problem at all.

You can tell it has had substantial mods done to the guards jsut looking at it. This was something I definately had in mind for mine...

Those GTR rims do look awsome on the vr4, but looks like a massive effort. You wold have infinite respect if you did do it though

Looking at that white car again, those guard mods look a little over the top. Though, I do not have any experience with the behaviour of double wishbone suss. Does it tuck in at the top under bumps? or more travel vertically like live axle?

I think I could do it very easily...

They do tuck in a bit, but it wouldn't be enough for those wheels.

Also, after speak with Jack Monkhouse on the weekend, the GTR34 wheels on his EVO 7 needed to have the bore of the wheel machined out about 1mm so that they clear the hub. I will be trying on his wheel at some stage and I will take pics to show everyone
