I'm assuming you mean the awd magnas

Gear ratio
1st 3.789
2nd 2.057
3rd 1.421
4th 1.000
5th 0.731
Reverse 3.865
Final gear ratio 3.684
Transfer 0.301
Centre differential 3.684

Rear differential ratio 3.312

Hope this is of some help

Thanks for that, i know them figures already, what i was trying to get at was, will the magna awd rear diff work on our car if we decide on changing it..

Reason i ask this, i found a bit of info where the 6G75 owners convert their 9g galant to awd using the TJ magna rear diff and also some have used the endeavour rear diff as well..

Cool, I just add the rear diff ratio

Rear differential ratio 3.312

The ratio is fine, so as long as it bolts up and it isn't difficult getting the correct length axles, then you wont have a problem. A few ifs in there, but technically, it will be ok for the car.

Oh, I guess I should also say that I have an AWD Diamante (I assume same as a Magna) rear diff in my VR-4. It needed ~10mm of spacer(s) between the diff and subframe bushes. You could most probably get away with some washers.

Same as an evo 9 diff by the sounds of it.... I think Minxy74 I'd running an awd magna rear diff....

How well would an evo RS diff work in our cars? I've been told by a mate it would be "the way to go". Basically remove the AYC all together and just use the RS diff.

RS requires complete swap, can't just put the RS LSD in the AYC diff casing. Note: The Type V Legnum has non AYC diff, find one of them then fit RS Evo LSD to it. The EVo Boys have been swapping to RS diffs for ages. So much so supply is now limited & price is Up to $2k.

The RS diffs use different mount points etc so cant bolt a RS diff casing into a 8G, However you can get a ST-R open rear diff (or type V) and axles, bolt a RS LSD cartridge into it and then bolt that straight into the VR4's
This is what I have done and it works a treat. However the stronger diff helped reveal the next weak point, the axles. I have snapped a few (2 when I converted to RWD. and one on a hard 4wd launch)

I think a WA member (skippy) was chasing / asking about the magna AWD diff's, not sure if his application was VR4 related however.

AS per kenneth's post above, the diamontae/magna diffs fit with spacers.
