hey guys,

Im hopeing that someone can help me, but its a big request. I was wondering if someone could measure the distance of the bolt holes of an actual recaro seat that fits the stock recaro runners. I understand that either the stock VR4 recaros, evo 5 or 6 seats bolt onto the stock recaro runners, im looking to get both the front to back dimensions and the left to right dimensions of the bolt holes on the actual seat.

So if someone out there has some seats that arent in a car yet that they could measure for me I would be oh so very greatfull, Im trying to figure out if the seats i have will bolt to the stock recaro runners.

Thankyou in advance to anyone that can help me

I think VR04TT posted the floor bolt hole spacings, whereas he's after the actual positions that the seat bolts onto the rail - is that right JB?

Here you go :)

I tried searching for it myself, but it wouldn't come up with things like "bolt spacing recaro" "recaro bolt" etc. So I'll add that to the post to make it easier for searches.

Edit: I just re-read your post and realised you want the seat bolt holes, not the floorpan ones. The evo 5/6/7/8 will bolt onto the VR4 recaro rail no problem. The rails I've used are the stock VR4 recaro rail and I've bolted Evo 5 Recaros straight to it.

Yeah i was after the seat bolt holes, i have some evo 8 recaros here and wanted to make sure they would fit before i bought some stock rails (as they arent cheap). I had never seen anyone put evo 8 seats onto stock VR4 recaro rails i was looking for the bolt hole spacing to check myself

They look good, how strong are they? and im guessing that wouldnt be legal in australia though... stupid laws

stronger than what was there
5mm*50mm stainless steel plate compared to 2mm press steel on a standard rail
painted black you would not notice it was the wrong mount.
the stand rail has a nut welded into the frame rail and this is 5mm thick normal steel.
I have had no movement yet
one issue with the recaros though

You go round corners faster lol

Yeah I bought the stock VR4 recaro rail and your evo 8 seats will bolt to it no problem.

These all share the same bolt pattern at the bottom:

The style ones look like the ones that are in various Audi's and the newer evo's

The stock evo 5-6 seat is from the sport series

Here is a question for you guys and I need a pretty urgent reply. SR3 Recaros have 6 bolts on the bottom but I believe the stock rails have only four bolt holes. So are people just using four bolts or drilling another hole or what?

I think 4 bolts are more than enough, as long as they're high tensile and right size for the job..

If i was in a position, i'd use all 6 holes

So the Stock VR4 Recaro rails bot up to SR3 Recaros with the six bolts?

Oh ok, I thought you had tried it. Reason I ask is there is some cheap ones for sale and I was going to jump on them if they fit. I've been talking to Jeremy (CANDEE) and he says that nothing lines up, I was under the impression that all Recaros bolted to the Recaro rails.

Macca according to Paul they should fit?

The problem is the SR3's have 6 bolts and the Evo seats only have 4 I think. I'll just have to get some that are designed for the SR3's I think, I don't want to be stuck with some rails that don't even fit my seats.

Jeremy is pretty sure the stock Recaro rails won't fit them.
