Last night my mates and i were waiting at the lights on eric st turning on to stirling hwy and a car went through and got flashed by the red light camera while his lights were green. we just thought he was unlucky and got owned by a faulty camera.

but later in the night at the bell tower we were following a car through the lights and the other guy was clearly speeding and he also got flashed on a green light. when we went through there was no problem.

am i just being paranoid or does anyone know anything about them incorporating speed cameras into the red light cameras?

I'm not certain...but I seem to recall seeing or hearing an ad for Today Tonight or ACA or something where they were doing a story about these Red Light/Speed Cameras.

So probably not your imagination.

Can anyone confirm for sure?

yep, there is a thread on antilag about them

there is one on the corner of barrack and riverside drive also

apparently they are testing them atm and if you get flashed you dont actually get a fine.

shotgun not testing that theory

yeh that was where we saw the second flash, corner of barrack and riverside. i hope the test fails, would get caught soo often. maybe we should try and ruin the test somehow to put them off :sneaky2:. dont ask me how though

I really hope these don't start to frequent 100->80->100 Red light cameras... Paaain

think about it from the cops perspective tho, if i catch an amber light i ALWAYS stick the boot in to mate sure i get thru, i bet all of you do as well.

as long as they put them in 'black spot' intersections where there have been crashes in the past, i personally dont have a problem with them

when they are being sneaky about it, thats when i have problems

Yeah but in WA it's all about revenue raising. When the cops went on strike and refused to hand out fines etc... thats evidence enough.

As far as I remember, when I lived in NSW they had just cut the speeding fines $$ value in half and increased the demerit points, they also had fixed cameras. I approve of this a lot more than WAs method as it would be far more effective in preventing black spot accidents and of course taking dangerous drivers of the road.

There is another at the intersection of Whatley and Guildford Rd's.
Also i'm pretty sure another at Mirrabooka Drive and Reid hwy.

They started putting them in in January this year (dont quote me on that one tho)
