Respraying legnum

gtr purple would look good on a legnum!
if you're going for a closed door job,you can save yourself a hell of a lot of money if you know how to prep the car first,i got my last car resprayed to similar factory color and because i spent a weekend with my mate who's a panel beater getting the little marks out and prepping the bigger surfaces it only ended up costing me $1700 drive it in in peices, drive it away in peices and put it together yourself

I like that greeny-blue that ford has, a white pearl of that would look nice if done properly. Or that really light blue holden had for a while, a metallic version of that would also be nice.

For a proper respray, or closed-door? Proper job means stripping the car right down to bare metal, all interior, electrical, glass and mechanical parts are removed from the chassis, it gets sandblasted, filled and repaired where necessary. Its a huge job which is why it costs so much (anywhere from 8 to 20k is usual).

Closed-door, it really depends how cheap you want to go as to how much effort you put in. Ideally it should be sanded back to bare metal, all glass and trim masked up, filled where necessary and painted from there. You can take the bumpers, skirts, fenders and bonnet off to do them separately (and properly) too for not much extra effort.

Another really nice colour is the VE HSV Evoke(i think its called that)
Its that dark gunmetal colour.
I Love it!

Heap of pics of Galants and Legnums in different colours and styles:

I was considering a Metallic Red, Metallic Blue or Gunmetal Grey and my Carbon Bonnet to mix it up.. That was when my car was being repaired, but since it was costing me heaps anyway, getting the whole thing resprayed was going to cost me heaps extra so I didn't see it as that worth it for me in the end!

I like purples on cars, deep, bright, etc.. I think it's a nice colour on them hehe.. Like the Ford purple, the R33 GTR purple, the bright one that Holdens now have, etc..

But yeah, I reckon those colours, or something more subtle because of the size and shape of the Legnum!

trev covered it basically, though we didnt go to that extent, just got a couple small dents out, pulled a lot of it apart and stripped the roof and bonnet,so we realy didnt do that much.one saturday for about 5 hours while drinking, then a few hours hungover on the sunday, cost me a carton for my mate, saved me a couple grand off the bill
