Can anyone else who has a sard R2d2 take a look at how many threads are above the bolt on their bov.

I have looked over the general BOV adjustment DIY; and have quite a bit of prior experience; but I cannot for the life of me find an instruction manual for the R2d2.

Any tips/tricks also with this bov?

Thanks heaps Ben. Appreciate it; Looks about the same as where mine is set.

Its such a different experience having a bov on a auto. No vent between gear shifts sux.

BOV only goes off when you quickly release your foot off the accelerator while there's pressure in the intake system..

Hey Mate.

I have the same BOV on my S1.

When I first installed it the spring was definitely too tight, it would only release if I was giving it some. If I wasn't, I could hear a noise up near the firewall. I took this to be the air stalling the turbos?

Anyway, I loosened the spring all the way open, then tightened it a turn and went for a drive. Since I have an EBC, I could set it to the level I wanted, put it into 3rd and gave it some....lost boost at about 8 or 9psi. So stopped, tightened a turn and went again.

It only took maybe 3 or 4 turns to hold my max boost setting of 12-13ish in 3rd. Other than that it vents quite quietly if I am driving normally. And if the boost gauge doesn't head into positive territory, there is no sound at all.

how do these sound? loud? quiet? whistle? whoosh? psshhht?

No problems, however I can help. I quite like the blow off valve on an auto because you can be stealthy if you want to be. Although admittidly I always drive tiptronic now. Love the sound of the r2d2. My wife thinks I am a raving lunatic because I get so happy at the noise it makes
