2000 Galant; metallic dark blue; manual; Recaros; Momo steering wheel; and sunroof!
It's time to say goodbye to the Galant after being involved in a prang where it rear ended another car.

2000 Galant VR-4 with the incredibly rare combo of metallic dark blue, manual, Recaro seats, Momo steering wheel, and sunroof!

Unless I'm mistaken, it's the only one in the country with this combo.

Damage is to the front end - see photo.

It starts and drives, but I just don't have the time to arrange the repair (young baby to look after).

You can see the original photos of the car in my intro thread: https://www.ozvr4.com/threads/patience-is-a-virtue.5251

New Brembo branded front rotors, Brembo branded front + rear pads, and new battery were fitted less than 500klms ago.

Michelin Pilot Sport tyres.

The car also has a custom built, competition quality stereo installed, worth over $10k at the time. Components include Dynaudio front component speakers, Rainbow subwoofer, PPI amp, etc. If you're into sound quality, you will know what these audio brands represent.

Also has a TME tune, TME heavy duty clutch, Walbro fuel pump, 3 port, custom floor mats, and other small nice touches (such as Tomei gear knob, and smoked side indicators).

I had it imported to Australia with 50,000 klm on it. Now sitting at 127,000 klms with the one owner the whole time.

Rego until 24 June 2026.

Asking $6k.

Located in Sydney's inner west.

Here are some photos and highlights of the custom stereo set up:

- Custom enclosure for the Rainbow Amboss subwoofer, with custom false floor to access the spare wheel.

- Doors sound proofed with Dynamat (both inner and outer door skin), and sealed, using the door itself as an enclosure for the Dynaudio component speakers.

- Sound absorption layer behind the Dynaudio midrange driver, which is mounted on a custom baffle with sound deadening spray applied to it.

- Dynaudio tweeters mounted in custom kick pods, angled at the opposite seat headrest for better sound imaging and staging.

- 2 x amplifiers mounted in custom ventilated enclosure below the subwoofer encloser.

I haven't had the time, as I've got a young baby at home.

The car starts and drives fine, with no strange noises.

Another member looked at the car today and is bringing a boffin to confirm his initial view that it's definitely repairable. If you're interested, you'd better be quick!

Here are some more photos to give you a better sense:

Hey mate, been looking to purchase a project car for my brother for some time now. I’m new to this chat so unsure of the rules within here. Where’s the best place i can message you on to buy this car?

If not for stupid tariffs, I’d have snapped this up. 🫠

Is there any chassis/steering damage? Or is it all cosmetic?
Unfortunately, I push paper around for a living, and am not a mechanic / panel beater! So, I couldn't give you a proper view on that.

The fact that the Galant still drives without any unusual steering behaviour, makes me think there isn't anything insurmountable.

Here are some more photos I just took (including of the underside), that may help you form a better view:
