Hi Guys,

I mentioned in august that i was importing a Legnum. Well its here (01 pearl white, leather seat covers, 17" gold wheels, aftermarket grill and foglight covers), but i can now see that it also has an aftermarket exhaust system and tein coilovers. Very nice surprises when to get that myself im lookn at $2k. The problem is, the car just failed inspection in SA and cant be registered until i get stock suspension/ non-adjustable. I need stock parts if anyone has a set they want to sell, or otherwise what suspension is interchangeable with the Legnum... if any.

Thanks

Ask Iron Chef, he may be able to help you. If not, post in that SA section, and see if someone will swap suss for a week or so.

Yea, a mate of mine is on here, was considering offering to slip him a fifty and let him have my coilovers for a couple of days...

I have a stock set sitting in my garage but they're up here in QLD and are pretty heavy to ship.

cheers

Lee

Hmmmm, that is a massive coincidence... im actually going to Queensland on friday, up there for 6 days... Wonder how i could use that to my advantage. Few questions, how much do you want for them? What postode are you in? Might be able to organise freight to the resort im at then take them as checked baggage on the plane if i dont take any other stuff. Are you able to weight them for me, struts arent rediculously heavy from memory... or are they???

Cheers

im in sa and have my stock suspension still. im sure u can borrow it for a week to get ur car thru.

ok, thanks to stevep my car passed inspection. Earlier today i bolted the coilovers and 17's back on. Took me and a mate about 4 hours to swap the coilovers to stock last week, and just over an hour to swap it back today. Too bad its a little low, took it for a drive straight after i finished and boosted round a corner only to bottom out and rip off some plastic from under the engine bay. Loving the Legnum tho

Lee I would be interested in your stock suspension if they are in decent condition and the price is right. Previous owner of my car put kings springs in the front but not the back and because of this the nose sits to low and wants to scrape on everything. Other option would be to put kings in the back and level the ride out but I dont want to have a harsh ride either. Sorry for thread Hijacking...

^^^ just go a relatively soft spring rate and get coilovers. then u have full adjustability.

Yeah I know that would be the better option but cash flow doesnt really allow for that right now. Just looking for a cheap fix for now, got a big list of things I wanna do with the car and coilovers is down the bottom of that list for the moment.

So they didn't pull you up on the exhaust, just the teins? I will be passing through Regency shortly and yeah if an aftermarket exhaust isn't of any concern to them then I won't bother paying the cost to have the stock exhaust brought down to Adelaide.

if money is a prob, just put stock suspension/springs back in. no point modding the suspension twice, will end up costing more.

i duno why u would have it down the bottom of ur list, its the first thing ive done to my car without question. i guess i learnt from my previous build what mods are worthwhile and should have the highest priority.

ie, aftermarket exhaust will be my last mod, as it only gains 15kws yet gets u 15x more attention from cops. where u can up the boost, triple those gains and no one is the wiser.

When I get to modding, coilovers will be high on the list but at the moment I just need to get the car properly serviced and checked out as I have no idea what its service history is. My CD player also plays mini disc but cant even play a cd without jumping so need a new one quick smart also. I agree with the loud exhaust, hopefully can reach 200 without needing a bigger one.

Regency didn't pull up the exhaust, the one i have is really quiet so whether it passed or they just didn't notice it i cant say?
