I just emailed my friend in japan. I told him that I bought the wrong coilover for my galant, I bought the coilover for EC5W (legnum) instead for the EC5A (galant). So I asked him if maybe I could get the correct spring rate for the coilover.

Then he replied and said that there is no specification difference between the EC5A and EC5W coilover.

Which really made me curious if this true or not? Then I got this website which show comparing the galant and legnum kerb weight. The galant kerb weight is 1520. There are 3 different EC5W model. The earlier model is only 10 kg difference to the galant model. And the 2 later model is abit heavier. I don't think that tein made a coilover for each different model. This is the website:
http://www.hkgalantclub.org/update/html/spec.php

Then I made a little research over the internet and found the official tein website:
http://www.tein.co.jp/search/search1.cgi?act=ITEM&item=SWG&make=MITSUBISHI

check out all information on the information table. The shock number, spring rate, and all the spec are the same.

what do you think guys?:)

What we do know is that the stock suspension and most spring kits have softer springs at the rear for Galants. Obviously with fully adjustable suspension, you can just change the ride height and be done with it.
