Hey Guys,

over the last few days my temp gauge has been acting up.

Sometimes it will not workand a firm hit on the dash above it causes it to start working again.

Then last night has i was driving it kept dropping in and out.

Does anyone know what could be causing the issue?

I would pull the dash out and check everything is as it should be and not loose at all. Then put it back together and hope it works :)

yeah that is what i was thinking i was going to have to do. ill give it a shot i guess.. I hope its not to difficult.

thanks brad!

There are two screws at the top of the dash above the speedo and tacho, then you need to undo the three screws holding the plastic on the steering column together. Drop the steering wheel all the way down and the main plastic shroud comes out.

Then there are about 4 screws to pull the dash out as one piece. From there I'd be checking the continuity on the temp gauge connectors.

thanks brad i will give it a shot!

I pulled the dash out last night.
I didn't pull the dash a part itself just pulled it out checked the plugs etc and they seem fine.

should i pull the actual dash apart next?

Yep that would be the next step. Check the special screws that go through from the circuit board to the dial itself. I've had problems with those in the past.

Thanks Brad! always appreciated!

Is the a guide here or on clubvr4 to pull apart the dash. i cant find one.

From what i can see - your article is the one i want right?
the fitting a 260kmh dash one?

That covers most of it yes. That is on here as well though. Kieran wrote a guide on CVR4 about removing the first part of the dash cover though.

cool thanks Brad,

ill give it a shot tonight.

Well yesterday i took the dash out again.

Removed the 5 screws to the temp gauge ran over it with some isopropyl alcohol.
Then ran over the plug closest to the temp gauge with isopropyl alcohol and then put it back together.

Went for a drive - hit the dash a lot, went over speed humps and drove it hard.

It did not drop once!! i think i fixed it - will just monitor it.

Thanks Brad and everyone else for the advice
