Temperature gauge

I seem to be having a problem with the temperature display at the moment. It seems to be getting an intermittent signal, so it is jumping up to the correct temp then dropping off the scale (no input signal).

It started happening the day after I re installed my SSQV and inlet elbow, so is there anything around that area that I could have knocked/bumped or is this just a coincidence?

Anyone else had this problem in the past?

thermostat cable/connector/harness ist just at the top of the coolant return housing.. i'd check that first

Is that for the climate temperature or coolant temp? My coolant temp guage sits at half way whether the engine is cold or out of coolant and boiling
