The new FPV GT

Are you looking to buy one? I cant see it effecting the aftermarket aspect as its just a air filter, although i could be interpreting your question wrong?
 
aftermarket air filters are perfectly fine and work, just that someone somewhere in the the government has said they effect emissions, catch fire and kill babies.

ford would hav designed the system like this, paid a lot of money to prove it works and hav gotta away with it.

for those unsure..... i've been pulled over for defect checks a few times, including while i had an exposed pod in both my previous car and current (obviously now i have an airbox..)

Point is - as long as the pod is secured, that is, it is fixed to the car, not touching anything, and its tight, you're fine.

State traffic (hoon squad) have had me over a couple of times, one of which was for exactly this. I checked in with them once it was secure and it was a clean bill of health.

Note this is only QLD, not sure about other states..

The thing that i was trying to point out was that it was an exposed air filter when the bonnet was lifted of the FPV. No i am not looking to purchase one.
I know that it would seal the airbox with the bonnet down, that they don't run a Karmen Vortex AFM.
It was more or less to show exhibit A that if you had an exposed pod filter in the car it could have a precedence if you got pulled over by the police. I got stopped a few year's ago for an excuse that they had to speed to catch me, as i admitted to going the limit. They saw i had a pod filter in an exposed airbox with the bonnet up ('92 Galant VR4) and said that it wasn't original equipment, etc...

335kw at the wheels ;)


street performance fords dynoed a brand new one. they are listed at 335kw @ the fly.

this GT, wheeled off something like 352kW at the tyres on two different dynos

so the power rating is a bit "conservative"




im a bit of a fanboy of the Coyote V8
 
if stock engines are pulling 350kw at the wheels then Im a fan boy also, thats a massive difference from 335kw at the fly
 
lol it just doesn't say 'supercharged' to me unless there's a lot of chrome poking through a hole in the bonnet!
