Car was running great. I went to start it, hard to crank over and then it cranked and this is the result.

More I listen to it, I’m thinking lifter shit the bed.

Initially thought timing belt tensioner, but check lifters first. If you don’t have a mechanic’s stethoscope, use a long screwdriver, hold against your temple and touch each valve cover, you should be able to isolate which bank it’s coming from.

Our engine uses the same lifters as the 6g7x dohc motors, so the 3mm ones are available stateside.

Im going to second Abe and Adam. Pull the upper covers on the timing and take a look. I'm assuming you had timing belt and tensioner done when you brought the car over? if so its prob not timing related but its worth a look.

The lifters are known to be loud. its what makes the 6A and 4G so loud. and they do fail. the revised lifters are a good upgrade. You will know instantly after taking off the valve covers.

Its extremely hard to tell via a cellphone speaker but it sounds more sinister than just a lifter.
Can speculate until the cows come home but for the sake of taking the covers off and checking the cam timing and eyeballing the idlers etc its well worth doing before diving deeper in like taking rocker covers off etc.
