Hey guys, thought it was time for a proper introduction
My name is Tate, 21, sydney

My HJ galant V6 auto has been the love of my life for the last 3 years (my P plates car) and i bought it real cheap knowing there was problems with it, but have kept it running till its gearbox gave out 2 weeks before i was elegible for my full licence. It served me well and i had never seen another galant on the road before i spotted Tom's old car, which lead me to this website.

Had been saving for a while i wanted a turbo AWD.. my mate got the 09 WRX and i was hooked so i recently bought a club spec evo 5 wrx (excuse iphone quality)

Its a tricky engine bay, but u guy are use to that ha ha, might even be harder for me to do my spark plugs than a vr4?? Dont know enough bout these engines yet.. looks stock though besides the panel filter, and i dont know where to recirculate the stock BOV to.. but will work it out.

I know most people on here don't like WRX's and thats fair enough, i hated them too because of the stereotype driving them. But underneath it all they are a good reliable car and im not about to go molestthe car and put 20 inch chromies on, 4 subs in the boot, and FMIC that scrapes the ground and a number plate that says "2DR-EXQ" on it. Im Introducing my new car here because i introduced myself on ozwrx.com and whilst they were welcoming bunch they just arn't as refined as ozvr4 boys... I love this forum and everyone on here can take a joke, are relaxed and yet any information you need can be found easily. Cheers guys.
Ps. still want a type V, pearl white, facelift with recaro's down the track :)
PPS. if anyone is interested in a HJ real cheap PM me

Congrats on the purchase... very clean clubSpec 5.

You will find the stock bov should have a vacuum line to the top of the intake manifold. This should help... (yes its a STi intake manifold; but it should be the same for the standard EJ20)

Note: this is looking from behind. Take note of the direction the throttle body is facing.

If you have any questions about it, let me know; I used to have a fairly heavily modified GC8 and know quite a fair bit about the EJ20/25 setup and rex facts in general. Good luck with your new project.

Nothing wrong with WRX's, just the tools that drive them :P

haha, just having a dig (from a fellow Subaru owner)
Nice looking car - but how do you pay for insurance?! Even at 29 and rating 1 for last 8 years, I cannot get a quote under $2k simply due to the high theft rates & poor record of these vehicles.... (compared to $800pa for my Liberty GT of the same value)

looks good. please dont go over the top on external mods.

phat wheels, low and some carbon here ant there and your set

insurance sucks, most companies quoted me $6500 or gave a sorry we are unable to insure your vehicle.. just car gave the best quote but its round 2gran.. vr4 was around the same oddly :s

Yeah probs gonna leave the external mods, carbon on yellow looks awesome, but its already an attention magnet as is.. every P plater and commodore wants to race me (dont even bother) only car so far i gave a go was a new audi A4.. didnt have to give it much, ate it up easily..

Ken blocks old DC wheels (white 6 spokes with one painted yellow) would suit and be real different.. might just go matte black though

My eyes! My eyes! I'll never be the same again.... :tongue_smilie:

How come you didn't consider a Galant? Should have bought the 6A12TT hatch HJ conversion up the central coast for sale pretty cheaply...

The galant up coast was nice.. The shell on it had done alot of kms... Plus parts for the 6a12 were impossible to get...

I'll buy a vr4 further down the track wen I finish uni and can afford to take proper care of it and modify it to what I want it to be..

I had my wrx the day after I turned 18. Insured with Just Car. (Full Comp)

First Year - $2800 /year
Second Year - $2400 /year
Third Year - $2200 /year
Forth Year - $2010 /year
Fifth Year - $1800 /year

I sold it as a rating 2.

I'm 25 this year in July and the Legnum is only $980/year through Just Car (Full Comp -Rating#1)
Covering:
-Tinting
-Boost Controller
-Stereo $3500
-Alarm

It pays to shop around.

Anyway; back on topic. I am +1 for the ken block style wheels.

TE37's if i'm not mistaken. Wrapped in BFGoodrich T/A KDW Tyres
