Hey Everyone

Joined the forum couple weeks ago but just bought me leggy on 2/8/08
so only had it 4 days, its still bit dirty and i didnt wanna post pics of it looking the way it is. Will do so soon in members rides once i get her gleaming. Anyway a bit about my new ride.

2000 series 2 Legnum standard as...
90,000km
carbon fibre interior inserts
factory recaro seats front/back
Standard pearl white paintwork
3 inch cat back exhaust

She goes allright, its my first turbo car(previously owned 2000 sII VT and SSS Pulsar N14) love the insta-boost but im already used to the power.

Am looking to soon fit a custom made 3" Exhaust right up to turbos...
Usual gauges for usual stuff...
Wanna fit a big FMIC but am having trouble trying to locate an intercooler
kit thats big enough for future mods. (any help here would be gold, finding local dealers isn't going well for me)
Maybe some 18" dished rims soon and a lighter bonnet too.
Im a bit disappointed bout the standard brakes they could do with an upgrade but one thing at a time.

Anyway for $17,500 am happy with my new leggy.

Look forward to talking to ya all

There is an intercooler thread which is probably worth searching for.Is your car an auto or manual?

yewww, welcome

WA count + 1

where bouts do you live?

brand of cooler is up to you, Madhav has had custom piping done by Embleton Engineering in Myaree, they are good for that kind of stuff. And as far as i know the price was pretty good. I should be heading down there soon too ;)

Yeah mate, not a lot of options for intercoolers and piping really, especially in comparison to skylines and WRX etc... you can check all the japanese import shops/part shops online like japparts. Also there's intercooler to suit on ebay I hear, ivan has one going here in the forum.... might save a hundred bucks or two or else go custom like PWR and pay up. For custom piping you pay up also, but the quality is good.

Hey guys its been a long time since ive been on this sight, disappeared off the radar for a while there with the new house, workin bush etc.......

I come to you fellow legnum folk for help and inspiration as im on the verge of sellin the car and bein done with it although i really dont want to go down that path....

Ive been goin through the oil lately as ive noticed the color being emitted from the exhaust is a definate sign of oil being burned....closer inspection has revealed that the rear turbo is leaking oil from the intake housing where the intercooler pipiing begins its journey from what could possibly and most likely be a busted turbo seal...Ive been told im looking at about 1-1.5K to have it rebuilt etc or a brand new one is app 1.5K also and that i should get them both done at the same time as its done 120000 km's now and repairing one will effect the other and lead to problems shortly after... and i cant see and reason for spending app 3K and making no power what so ever im left with 2 options...go 2 slightly larger ones like madhavs done or go single conversion.

I realise upgrading the turbos will require bigger fuel pump, aftermarket ECU, possibly injectors, modified eqhaust in the case of a single conversion but dont know what avenue to venture down...

As its my everyday car its a tough decision to make to have it off the road for what could possibly be weeks and weeks =[

So given the experience and knowledge on this forum, would it be feesable to go down the single turbo conversion avenue? or slightly upgrade the 2 to slightly bigger ones, hunt down 2 standard ones 2nd hand and cross my fingers the whole time, or rebuild these crap things...or just sell the beast and cut my losses......big decision to make plz help....

Cheers

If you decide to go the big single or twins, call wayne at embleton engineering in Myaree for a quote. It will actually still ok run without changing all the fuel pump, injectors, ecu, but just not very fast... He can rebuild your stock turbos also for a better price than what you were quoted I suspect also, he is very experienced at this also as it was his main job at one stage.

Otherwise just get the stock turbos out of a wreck or something, put up a WTB on here and at clubvr4. NZ blokes will have some for sure cheap as. I sold mine for $300 I think?

Wats a WTB dude.....(want to buy)??? Also i gettin elfi to price me up on a haultech E11v3 i think it is so that will definately be going in but its mainly the fabrication side of things getting it all done etc I priced up a GT35R its $650 so cant complain with that at all, money much better spent I think than rebuilding 2 pissy small turbos but anyways can you put his contact details up here for me ill be givin him a call and shit when i stop working in Kalgoorlie...I think the rear turbo will hold out a lil longer and i guess if the single mod is my choice to buy everything i need so its all there when coming to do the job......ive done quite a bit of research into this and the guys have always had problems after the conversion and just cant really afford this one to turn out like that......no car no job no money no nothing...catch me drift

The single is a bit easier than the twins I personally think, and if you have a gt35r priced for $650 then great! 9330 2808 is the number, it will be off the road for a few weeks mate, better to buy a cheap 4 cylinder sh*tbox while your leggie is being done, like a N14 pulsar or toyata corolla or something.

U can sell it once it is all done...

My car? Sometimes I think it's all a fantasy, that it existed a long time ago, in some distant land. . Well it depends on so many factors, manual conversion kit is ready to send, should be here next week, the clutch and flywheel etc is ready to go in... How long elfe takes to do the conversion is anyones guess? He said as soon as it arrives he will do it but who knows?

LOL elfi is a busy man bro and i recommend lookin into a lightened flywheel if your building up a manual conversion project, chrome olly about $450 from NZ if i recall correctly... you'll get there man but i think these things happen when upgrades arent done correctly right from the start...hence why im doin lotsa RnD for this single conversion....just read a bloke made 600+bhp from his fto powered 6a13 conversion which utilses the 35R.... would need internals too more money....im sure the ecu and turbo with fuel pump will suffice for long enough i hope.....the more i think aqbout it the more i wanna do it...

Well due to the lack of funds now.......and time to order everything and completed before end of the year is not looking promising so may have to source some of these GT25's which everyone is talking up.... the biggest most expensive part is the time required to fabricate the custom exhaust manifold so may have to settle with the twin setup for a lil longer =[

Like I already said, just use adaptor plates, no need for custom manifolds.

Dude i worded it wrong was referring to the single turbo conversion manifold setup being too expansive, theres no way id get custom ones made up for a twin setup as is

Can someone tell me if $2300.00 is reasonable for a Haltech E11v3?
