I would rather have teeth pulled than register using this forums registration setup.

I thought I was typing the wrong text for the image, which is common because they are awful to look at in most forums using it (especially on a laptop), but to my surprise it was because someone in there wisdom set it up to say VR4 comes in Galants and ?, I am no Galant expert but I thought Legnums were Galant station wagons, but I knew GTO's were also offered as VR4, trick question as it is asking VR4 is available in Galant and Galant, whoops, Sigma, Whoops Eterna, Whoops 2000GTX, Whoops Emeraude, whoops Aspire, hang on I will get it right, I mean Legnum station wagon. :)

Nice looking cars but only good in AWD as in a toddler knows from pedalling a trike, FWD sucks.

Bad first post but trying to join a forum with trick questions is a new one for me and for any newbie like me wanting to learn about Galants and knowing it was known under many names all over the world got caught out o_O

Can't sleep and when I do I will probably read this post and have to apologise but it is 3.15am in the morning and I was wound up trying to register in the dark :tongue_smilie:

Now to continue researching, funny thing is a Legnum is the sort of thing I would like to buy :p as long as I can get it to look like a sheep.

But you made it here in the end Jason, welcome to OZVR4.

We've had to change the settings so you had to log on to see anything (registered users can. "Members" can sell items after a donation but non-members can browse and buy) because of spam/bot traffic according to snickells (Steve) and cittris (Tristian).

Enjoy!

Welcome! plenty of info here.
I believe theres even a welcome template here somewhere.

Thanks everyone, as I said 3am in the morning and in the dark, is not good :)

in the spirit of goodwill, ill just post my (in)famous template and keep it at that;

welcome to ozvr4, jason

everything you need is here somewhere

eg:

http://ozvr4.com/forums/showthread.p...ook-here-FIRST. (index to lots of good stuff)

http://ozvr4.com/forums/showthread.p...rum.-MUST-READ (all the info about these cars and their varients)
http://ozvr4.com/forums/showthread.p...taged-Upgrades (staged upgrades)
http://ozvr4.com/forums/showthread.p...tion-Info-HELP (production info)

and if you're wondering why you cant post a new thread, its cause you hav to be a donating member, which is $5.

i think that covers everything. again, welcome :)

Thanks mate, cool with the $5, don't need to post for a while yet I think, now I can understand the little advertising, Vbulletin and all the other packages included. Nice website by the way, I love what is included in the user profile etc.

when you have a sec start a thread and throw up some pics of delica here.

Admittedly I've never looked into it but made the assption Delicas were all turbo diesel. V6 too? 6G72?

Welcome Jason.

Unfortunately, the registration is a bit painful due to those pesky spammers, but as previously advised, you made it here in the end! :)

I moved your thread to the intro area also.

Admittedly I've never looked into it but made the assption Delicas were all turbo diesel. V6 too? 6G72?

If you see one without a bonnet scoop it is 99% likely to be a V6, early versions are more likely diesel and the later the L400 version more likely it is a V6, they stopped the smoker way before they stopped building L400 versions. Current Delica's are not real 4WD, just AWD (no hi/lo etc) with smoke and mirrors for traction etc.

Apparently the SOHC 6G72 24V is the same engine as the Magna/Triton etc, it has coil packs like the Triton, here is the interesting thing, it was built in Adelaide then sent to Japan. It is only 136kw and for a 2.100kg+ van it has not got enough torque, goes ok when you flog it :p. Weighing up idea how to improve its performance, one Delica Club forum member had the right idea and then some....1UZFE V8 with a Supercharger

Fire away if you think it is ugly or squeezed like a pimple, I have heard it all , the Toaster username is because the Deli looks like a Tefal toaster.

I should take some more pictures as this picture looks like I had fish eye settings enabled on the camera LOL

Anyway off to bed and going to look at the different VR4 models available tomorrow.

I like em. Would definitely own one if I was in the market for such a thing. Oh and if I was obsessed with aesthetics I probably wouldn't be driving a Legnum ;) The later model D:5(?) certainly looks less off-road worthy than the early shape.

Welcome Jason, the Delica is a nice party wagon for nites on the piss but the legnum is a great daily n an awesome weekender. Hope u find all u need to know here which I'm sure u will

Yeah, the Deli's are pretty cool, I think I would own one too.....

How does it go offroad?

Yep D5 is more a soft roader, but I have seen some fairly modified ones in Youtube, must be just me but I like the look of Legnums, I like my Deli but they look too narrow, that is for the Japan under 1700mm road tax or what ever, they are the same width as generation 2 Pajeros and 75 series Landcruisers (without flares) 1695mm but the Pajero has flares to make that width, they actually have more width inside than a Pajero.

I'm quite partial to the look of Legnums, one of the best looking wagons ever made. Not opinion, straight up science hahaha

I am a wagon lover, owned a few- Ford XF Ghia wagon (fitted it with a 5.8L Clevo), XE Fairmont wagon, 97 JE Lantra Sportswagon, EL GL wagon (9.6L per 100, 120kmh+ cruise control set with over 500kg in the back A/C always on), EL Fairmont wagon (it currently covers the pit in the shed :D ) and I am looking for a XA Falcon wagon for a old school cruiser, has to be pre 73, long term project with very little plastic to perish.

I am looking at the VR4 auto for the Mrs (honest :tongue_smilie:), ideal car for the safety features etc and FWD should never be allowed , the Lantra was bad enough and it was lacking power, dyno'd on a Mainline Dyno at only 75kw at the front wheels for a joke on a dyno day.
