I have been looking on trademe for ages and wanna get some stuff except every one i tell says that this site is pretty dodgy.

Has anyone made purchases from here before?

I have purchased a few items from Trademe on a number of occasions and have only had one purchase go wrong (Blew up a 2001 Toyota corrolla the same day I got it).

Other then that conducting buissness using the site is great. One thing that comes to mind, is that In nEw zealand, cars like ours are very affordable and they are everywhere and more readily available to younger people wu lik to spel lik dis wen dey advertis stuf on da web. No disrespect to our younger members, but I trust older sellers over the younger.

I bought a "JDM VR4" front bumper lip for my HH VR4 a few years back - when I got it I found out it was for a GSR and not even close to fitting. I left bad feedback - he left worse - I haven't used it since

It ain't bad. There are some dodgy sellers, but you can usually tell by their feedback how reliable they are, just like on ebay.com and similar sites.

Payment might be an issue for you I would guess. Most people like bank transfers for payment and transfers from an Aussie to a Kiwi bank could be a little complicated I think.

Almost no-one accepts Paypal on TM. There seem to be some NZ equivalents like "Paymate" or "Pay Now" though, but have never bothered with any of these, so am not sure how they work.

Obviously the site itself isn't dodgy, but you may run into the odd dodgy person on there, thats just part of any auction site.
