Hi kids,

So I'm finally getting around to doing this. For context I work 10-12 hours a day and only get one week off a year, so this has been low on my list of priorities. Last summer I didn't get around to doing this because I had a shoulder reconstruction just before Christmas, so used my week off to recover (yep, was still back at work on the 2nd). That, and frankly this whole thing makes me sad and I'm still a bit in denial I guess. But she's been off the road for a few years now and we're having some construction done next year and she's in the way, so time to bite the bullet.

Honestly, I don't know how inconvenient/costly it will be to repair, and I haven't paid attention to VR4 prices in well over a decade, so I have no idea what she's worth. So I guess let's see what interest there is and if I get a decent enough offer it's yours. Because the forum rules say no EoI, let's say I'd let her go for $5k for everything.

This is a '99 black manual facelift with a sunroof (you can check my Rides thread if you want to see the car's whole history since I found it in Japan, go here for her former glory) with a Exedy MBK-7223HD heavy-duty clutch, EVO BoV, replacement SS dump pipe, close-to-new coilover suspension, aftermarket dimpled rotors, custom floor mats, Koya Dift teks in 17x8", +34 rims, Rays wheel nuts, lots of servicing done like hoses, seals, lifters, bearings, pumps, Aluminium radiator etc, window electrics modded back to factory, 3M high quality tint, aftermarket stereo, aftermarket alarm system, new A/C compressor, debadged and orange indicator lenses removed, and I'll be getting rid of everything else I've collected with it - servicing manuals, new replacement headlamps, heaps of clips and trim pieces, underbonnet heat-shield, original splash tray (never fitted), rear strut brace (never fitted), spare rear-left seatbelt, silicon intercooler hoses (never fitted), aftermarket intercooler (never fitted), and the original bumper (it's been repaired and had undercoat applied, ready for painting) so the front end could be repaired pretty easily.

Here are some photos of her current condition. Note while I was able to recover the snapped-off half of the rear bumper, there were no salvagable pieces of the fibreglass front bar:

You can see the paint down the passenger side got quite scratched up, too, but I don't know how much of that will just buff off:

This was the car I designed the AYC servicing device for, many years before we were able to interface directly to the ECU to bleed the AYC system (apparently a number of these boxes were built by servicing yards all over the country for several years). I used it to write quite a number of guides, and it featured in the original OzVR4 calendar all those years ago. Through ownership I got to know a great community of passionate and genuinely lovely people, and will always be proud of the contribution I was able to make to these wonderful cars in Australia. It wouldn't be unreasonable to say this car is part of VR4 history, for those who care about that sort of thing ;)
