Name is Paul some of you may have seen me "around" before. I know the likes of QMD//////801, Buzzpuppy and Dimi108 off the aussiemagna forums.

Anyway, among joining to get some more technical information another fantastic mitsu, I'm chasing some of these off an early 90's galant....was hoping someone could tell me what the technical name is and if anyone has some for sale?

They are for my JDM Diamante.

Umm... running lights? ... Are you able to better describe their purpose or where they are mounted on the car? i.e. pictures?

Der, Should mention I got this off a 1992??? (Very early model) Galant (the DOHC 4cyl one) which is identical to the one pictured here


(On top of the gaurds) and I want another one as it's pretty much one of the only options my Diamante didn't come from MMC with, so now I know the early model galants have them, Makes looking for them much easier :P

Don't even know if I like them yet, but it's JDM, and my car should of had them, so i will get them for it!
 
Was hoping to avoid that seeing as I found some at Imlachs Clayton, like surely there are more here...

On that note...if anyone see's any at a wreckers....let me knowwwwwwwwww

not if they're factory optioned..

have you checked out sites from asia? I'm pretty sure they're standard on the Diamante's released in the philippines.. so there could be alot of them in wreckers and surplus shops...
 
Sites from asia...Nah the hunt hasnt gone that far...

Heaps of galants at "pick-a-part" on Sydney Road VIC today but all ADM from what I could tell. Well I'll keep my eye's out for another one. Was strange as this early model galant only had it on the passenger side

Yes they are. Jap cars fitted with these factory have to have them removed or disconnected to be complied. ;)


89-91 VR4 Galants came with these factory. They look the same at least (the light, not the car)
 
In most states they aren't illegal.
From what i know, these are not removed from the JZX100 Mark II's during compliance.

These are parking markers or "fender lights" and are used to judge the front of your car when parking.
The lights are from an optical source and not a filament bulb and is angled so only the driver can see it from his viewpoint. They are lit from a fibre optic cable from the parking lights.
Many of these came factory standard on Japanese cars.

One of the my mates (James) from the JZX100 Chaser club has them on his JZX100 Mark II. They came factory standard.

Paul, your best bet is to grab them off a wrecked JZX81/90/100 Mark II. They're very easy to find locally.

Yeah my mate Jon has them on his gen 5 VR4 Galant. ATM they dont light up or anything but they are still attatched to the car.
 
Looks like I'll hit up some jap wreckers during the week for them. hopefully try and find the wiring too.
Yeah was perplexing as to what made them light up as this had no wires coming out (and none in the gaurd?) and couldnt really see a "globe" of sorts.

And yeah that chaser looks great with them, definitely need to chase down another one and get them working!
 
I have an aftermarket telescopic parking marker fitted on the left front guard and illuminates green. Was not removed during compliance.

Yeah, I've mosey'd on from aussiemagna and it's definitely a big change from the "mighty" 2.6L NA Astron Mark II in Seth, the Black TS Magna GLX wagon that thought it was a KS Verada :D

Good to see you on this side... but I'll still rubbish ya for the faux shagpile fur interior you had. Definitely different, but it looked like a few Muppets died for the cause!

Yes you had a very tidy wagon....its a shame no-one ever does up the 6's....anyway
Yes.....errm....well the fluff was cool at the time :P Went a bit overboard with it :P But the suede trims and roof lining look much better, actually the interior's never looked better..

Well, if anyone comes across some of these parker lights I'd love to know about it! Great forum you have here too!
