Hi all,

Currently importing a 2002 manual Legnum, arrives on the 24th. Then will most likely take a week or two to clear customs, gets transported to compliance centre where it'll most likely take another 3-5 weeks depending on paperwork

I'm a patient kinda guy, but this is really starting to test me...

How was your import experience and or timeframes? I'd be interested to hear how it went for anybody else undertaking the process!

Welcome.
I think i had my car about 2 months after the day i payed for it at auction.

It comes pretty fast!

Oh snap! Congrats on the purchase, I hope it works out fast for ya! hehe..

Importing would drive me INSANE!!

Paid on 4th December, think mine will be a little longer than 2months unfortunately! Car hits our shores on the 24th Jan, was advised by compliance guy Ben (Shogun in Brendale, any QLD crew had experience with these guys?) it'd take a week to a week and a half before it clears customs. Then a few weeks for compliance. He advised it'd be more like this time next month before I get behind the wheel

Getting this way more and more by the day! Just gotta keep telling myself it'll all be worthwhile...

Welcome Joey,

Yeh, importing can test the patients. I think ours was around three and a half months, at that time Shogun had run out of the allocation of compliance plates and were waiting for more to come back on line. I think it sat in Australia for around a month and a half. So consider your self lucky. There were a few others who had to wait much longer (different circumstances of course), so it sounds like your timeframes are around right.

You might want to consider posting some images of your car too in the members ride thread before everyone threatens to ban you. ;)

The wait is worthwhile, makes you appreciate it more.

Mike

welcome.. and I will pray for you that your patience would last longer.. lol

any quick pics of your car?

OT.. are you selling your Civc VTi-R?

Joey, welcome to the club! Best of luck with the import process; it will be worth the wait!

At least you car will be in the country THIS month! :)

Welcome aboard mate, you'll find everyone really friendly and after reading all of the tiups on modding the cars no doubt you will have a room full of goodies to go onto the Legnum after its complied!

After hearing the wait times other members have had to endure, think I'm doing pretty well. After I read up on the import process and the expected delivery timeframes I'm a lot more relaxed about it. As they said in the import process thread: "expect delays and if it gets done sooner, bonus!".

Rasi: Picsorban terms accepted. Will chuck some pics up today :p

Naughtika: The torqueless wonder will be given to my fiancee, she's pretty keen on a GT Starlet tho so will most likely cop a roadworthy and get put on the market ;)

Hank: Been a member of Ozvr4 ever since I seriously started looking for a Legnum. Between this forum and clubvr4 I have gotten a wealth of info and have already lined up the first few modifications ;) Thinking cat-back, then front mount including silicon or hard piping kit. Once more cash becomes available get the dump and front pipes done (high flow cat too), then onto handling and braking mods. Sound like a good order to get things done in?
