VR4 Ralliart???

Hi Guys,

I have been lusting after a VR4 for a while now, my local import dealer has one on his forecourt, but it's a special edition, ralliart model, comes with recaro seats, momo steering wheel, uprated suspension, bodykit etc. Is this a genuine model from the factory, or is it all aftermarket, as the dealer is telling me it's genuine. it's a 1998 model, apparantly only available in red or black, he's asking $16990 for it, is it worth it - 136000k's on the clock.

no such thing as a ralli art vr4,

those are all factory options

136k km's?! for $16990.. IMO.. that's a little too much.. ask the resident import brokers we have here. i'm pretty sure they can find you one with similar features also with ALOT lower km's travelled..

you just gotta be patient though..

Agreed, show us some pics and we'll be able to tell you what model it really is

You'd be able to import one with way less than 100k(probably less than 80k if you're after an auto) for $14k, I'd keep looking mate.

The VR4s were developed by Ralliart IIRC. So really, they're all Ralliart VR4s

Thanks guys, just one more question, the standard head unit (with tape & cd) is it any good, and does it have preouts for a sub? I have a 10" polk sub in my 300zx at the moment, which is looking for a new home

my 96 had a ralliart badge, braces and suspension along with a few other options like leather hand brake and the metal door panel things, but there is a good chance its just aftermarket stuff. Also has a few other differences i've noticed including my wiper thing and no central antenna thing..

yeah thats not a ralliart model if its a super.

you could however get factory ralliart parts when it was new like suspension and center facia (like mine)

if you want an auto id go facelift IMO

I bought mine in for $14,500 (Super VR-4) with 57,000km on the clock a year ago. Have a look at my signature. ZTD sold his before he moved to Finland, Mitchy has his in WA and Just Plain Nuts (Ben) represents the super vr4's in QLD.

As soon as I saw recaro's and bodykit I thought it might be for a Super. They are cool looking cars, but it isn't worth that much with that many km's on it.

anyone saying thats not worth it i disagree.. supers are rare in galants..

edit - dont forget this is from a dealer - they need to pay for shop fronts. up to you.

yes, she's red, with a black body kit. I would like to wait, but my 300zx is smoking as though she's got a 40 a day habit So i need to clean her up and get rid asap! That and i need a more practical car for work, but my shortlist is 2 cars - a VR4, or a Liberty Wagon - I know which i'd prefer

Not a bad price if you really must buy through a dealer... Personally I wouldn't pay that much, but then again I wouldn't buy an auto at all so my opinion might not be of all that much value here!
