Hey guys,
I just got my 1996 Galant VR4 last monday.... and i f@#*ing love it lol I have been chasing a Galant for about 2 years now since I first test drove one, unfortunatly it was sold 2 weeks before I got the money for it :( so instead I bought myself a 98 Impreza WRX GC8 and did a lil work on that. Altho I loved driving the rexy it wasn't quite enough so I went looking for something better and thats when I finally found my Galant :)
The Galant is alot faster, smoother and more comfortable then the rexy was so I think I more then made the right choice!

Anyways its a stocko tiptronic auto with 114,000km's on the clock. The colour is a nice black with green flake and has a set of 17" advanti Talons on it running Kumo tyres.

So far I already have a few nice lil things I want to do to it :)
-Need a double din head deck ( having no radio its killing me!!)
-a nice soundsystem to go with it
-Exhaust with varex muffler
-Aftermarket ECU
-Hard intercooler piping ( Maybe even a better intercooler)
-Elec boost controler
-Turbo timer
-Boost gauge
-Adjustable Coilovers
-Grounding kit
and maybe a few other mods but I think they will do for now...

I dont know nearly enough about these cars yet but can't wait to find out everything I can.... It does help that my mate has a Legnum so he has been telling me a few intresting facts.

So yeah I'm always up for a cruise as I love driving this beast ( I have done 1000km's in the last week since I bought the Galant :P)

Welcome! Good to see another 8g vr4 enthusiast, they're popping up more and more now:) your mod list looks good, just dig and dig through here and you'll find all the good mods etc. Just make sure she's serviced well as a good base before modifying. These cars are not very forgiving when it comes to lack of maintenance

Well I had a varex cannon on my rexy and it was well and truely past the legal volume haha mates in damage club could hear me in the mountins from a few km's away lol but when i closed it couldnt hear anything but my BOV lol I cant wait to get it put on they are so quiet with stock exhaust and im gettin it pretty cheap thanks to the place that put the one on the rexy giving me another great deal lol time to save up now hope to get it done before the end of the year...
 
dude.. trust me.. its green with a bit of black..

I've seen the guy mix paint for it..

color code is G25

its about
60% green,
2% red
.5% pearl
.5% white
20% black
2% blue

and whole lot of other colors..

welcome by the way.. and do you drive around Cannon Hill shopping center sometimes?!
 
haha all good well now i no wat colour it really is :) and no i havnt driven around cannon hill in it yet lol im out near ipswich way.

I found a switch under my dash and fliked it but nothing happened lol so tonight on my way home i left it on and watched my headlights dim to parkers when i stopped at the lights lol only happens when the car stops lol is this a genral feature or aftermarket thing?
 
That sounds like a Jap mod if ever i heard one.
 
Its an unusual mod thats for sure dont really see the point in it but oh well as long as the cops dont care if i forget to turn it off meh hahaha

Very Japanese, the headlight thing. Its a common thing for drivers to do in Japan, turn the headlights down to parkers while stopped at traffic lights. Its apparently to avoid dazzling pedestrians and cyclists. The modification sounds like the owner was very concerned about this, and lived in a Japanese city with LOTS of traffic lights.
 
lol yeah its a bit trippy for the car driving infront hahaha

i went on a all day cruise today with a s$^t load of cars and one of then was a legnum the guy bought it from someone on here lol his plate is OVR444 says hes been trying to join for ages and still hasnt been accepted lol but yeah i cant belive how well the galant ran was friggen awsome pretty much equil fastest car out there along with several others only stock tho haha but it drove amazingly but think i need to get the exhaust done cause i look at the speedo thinkin im not doin any faster then 120km tops just to hit the limiter at 180 haha but it handled mt tambo so well chasing a mates crx who was up the ars of a bike doin 110 around it was unreal but didnt quite feel that fast love it just too quiet lol
