Hi guys, my names Amph and i'm now selling my 32 GTR. It's my dream car and I've had it for 2 years, spent WAY too much money on it, but now times have changed and i'm looking to get something else.

Now it doesn't really matter what I get, pretty much everything is going to be considered going backwards! (no disrespect!)

I've read up a bit on the legnum, I like the different look of them, I like the fact that you dont see many on the road. Now my GTR was (still is mine while I write this though) modified to the my plan to have a 400hp, standard looking GTR, pop the bonnet and you will be greeted with a bone stock looking motor, so I dont want anything thats going to get me harrassed by the cops (pod filters/shiny metal intercooler pipes/gauges everywhere) etc... Somthing clean, but still FAST

To be honest i'm trying to decide between a legnum/VR4 and a 2001 Liberty B4, so my price range isn't too bad, i'm looking around the 15k mark (can stretch to 17-18 for the right car)

So something with low Km's, tastefull mods, good service history is pretty much what I'm looking for... Manual would be prefferend but i'm interested in trying one of those tip-tronic thingys... sounds fun!

Oh and I dont want to go through the import process cause I could be needing a car by Dec/Jan...

Thanks for checking out my thread, if you want to see the GTR I'm talking about its on carsales, its White with black drift tek rims for $25k

Cheers

Amph

You won't go wrong with a VR-4. There's a few for sale here. Have fun shopping!

As autos go the tiptronic is very good, not far off manual. Where abouts are you? My purple legnum is for sale(kind of happy to keep it) if you want to see/drive one i'm in the northern suburbs of sydney. There is also Emanual's legnum http://ozvr4.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7761

I can vouch heavily for Qballs car. Quite a steal in price. Bastard waited til I bought mine and then advertised it.
It's auto but Dave and I always laugh about how our cars have never been in auto, always in tiptronic mode. And IT IS fun!

anyways, good luck with the sale and the purchase Anthony.

PS: The VR4 is not a step back (no offence) It is the ONLY step forward from a GTR, so dont worry, buy one and you are moving up the JDM tree (IMHO)

HAHA, The GTR was (and in many ways still is) my dream car, the power, the handling, the look of it, the way it strikes fear into so many other cars on the road, esp falcadore owners, they are still bitter about Bathurst 91 and 92! and (unfortunatly) the way it attract COPS!

I'm after something that I'm not going to be fixing every second week and I plan on keeping my next car for a few years, so the newer with few Km's the better!

Is it just GTR's or do a lot of japanese cars have their speedos replaced/altered???

Cheers

Nope seems most imported brands have them done. As every one looks for low kms and newer cars

And a VR-4 will be faster around corners because it is 4wd all the time :)

But the GTR attesa system allows you to turn in fast and then the 4wd kicks in on the corner exit... (In the ideal world, in reality the hicas stuffs up your corner entry and the 4wd kicks in too late and you have a very LONG power slide coming out of the corner cause you came in too hot!)...

Still fun though!

Any of the posted cars would be great, all good cars with great owners

Chris' has all the specs i want.. type V in pearl with the recaro momo combo.. oh my goodness.. all the mods look great.. bigger brakes and ud b set :)
Chefs white one is nice two.. sunroof in a galant is really rare

Finally getting a bit of interest in my GTR, hopefully i'll have it gone in a month or 2, then there is 2 weeks of mourning and then grab a Legnum...

Anybody seen the youtube video of the Legnum v BMW? or Legnum v Liberty wagon?

Hey Anthony, love this quote from your forsale thread on skyline oz...
"Please no more silly offers, yes I know you can get a R32 for $17k, then buy that one! mine is NOTHING like those ones!!!"

you tell em mate, (and good point- too much you say? then buy the cheap one ya skimp-bastard) LOL

It always makes me laugh when people do that.

Damn low-ballers lol

So so true, yes GTR's are getting cheaper, but everything that makes the GTR special i've taken it to the next level, going from a R31 turbo wagon to the GTR was like... well... going from a 31 to a GTR!!!!

But they still have their short comings - (more so the 32 than the others, they progressivly get better and better with each new model) The standard brakes are great for street, but getting up to speeds which the GTR are capable of, they really dont fill you with confidence when you push on that middle pedal...

Hicas is awful on the track, and the standard suspension really makes the car lean on the tires, (thank god they have great seats that hold you in!)

And as everyone with a turbo car knows, boost IS ADDICTIVE! and having a GTR has a stigma attached to it that it should be able to beat every other car on the road, at 7psi standard its all well and good, but really can't hold a candle to todays 6L V8s...

Everything thats been done to my motor has been to make sure it makes 300awkw day in day out, nothing is near the limit, yes its possible to make that power on stock injectors/intercooler/AFMs, but i wanted it done right and not have anything on edge and fail prematurely...

Sorry to waffle on guys but it's annoying when people dont know what they're really looking at!

Hopefully I can get some free time and have a look at some Legnums in the flesh, you guys have been really helpfull with everthing, I got a good idea of what to look out for and what i want...

Cheers

What you pay for is what you get. Really sounds like a good ride.

When I was looking at replacing the Legnums (Sold one, decided to keep the other a bit longer :)) a 32 GTR was high on the replacement list. Finding one in good condition and that hadn't been raped proved a difficult task!

Had my 1st legitimate buyer come see the car last night...

It really hit home how much I love this car and how much I spent on it (even with a couple of reciepts missing I'm all ready up to $12k!)

This is going to be a hard process, but being on here as often as I am (which is prob too much for someone that has only ever seen ONE Legnum in the flesh) I'm really looking forward to seeing more of these cars and hopefully have my own!!!

Anyone else round the western sydney area that can take me through the ins and outs of buying/owning a Legnum??? I'll swap the info with you for a few beers and a ride in a GTR!!! haha....

Hi Anthony.

I'm happy to chew the fat with you on these cars.

I've got a manual Galant in stock form, which will be noticeably slower than your 300kw GT-R! However, it makes a fantastically practical, refined and deceptively quick car for day to day duties.

Have a look here for common problems and issues with the VR-4s:

Anthony, happy to take you for a spin and show you the stuff I've broken over the time of ownership :D

We can tee up a time after Chrissy if you want.
